Hi guys,

I’m new to my ranger class and for a while I’ve been running short bow and great sword. I would like to switch to sword/axe though for single target dps and possibly longbow for area effect damage.

However, I am worried that maybe Human was not the best race to pick, as Norn have the shapeshift abilities. I am also in need of some advice regarding melee builds so any opinion regarding that as well would be greatly appreciated.

So, what are some good ranger melee trait/skill builds for sword+axe?

And, what in your opinion is the best racial choice for a melee ranger?

I would say that racial choice matters little. The racial skills are decent, but class skills are almost always superior. Pick the race you like the most.

Kormir’s blessing removes 3 conditions, which makes humans a good choice too. You can never have too much condition removal.
