what is the best karma set for wvwvw in your opinion?

Spec for traps, use shortbow and axe/torch. Sigil of earth on shortbow and either your axe or torch. All of your damage will come from conditions which of course is what traps are all about. Burning from your torch offhand is pretty wicked.

so Lyssa or Balthazar set? Lyssa is for more precision + condition duration and Balhazar more power and more fire power

you have to get the different armor pieces from different temples, no temple has a complete set of one stat collection.

meaning you’ll have to get gloves and leggins from a temple, head and shoulders from another, and if i remember correctly, rabid (condition dmg, power, prec) chest and boots are not available from temple karma merchants, you’ll have to get those from TP (armor pieces like mhenlo’s boots..etc.)

Personally, I find trap builds lackluster in WvWvW. There’s just too much open space and too much movement for our relatively small traps to be very good at anything outside random 1v1s and the occasional choke situation.

I use Muddy Terrain to good effect without having to commit to a full trap build.

I’d like to hear from other WvW Rangers about their builds.

well, before trying out my fail BM builds, i ran full berserker 30/20/20/0/0, QZ, SotW, LR, Entrangle, healing spring, longbow, and sword and warhorn.

It really depends on what you wish to do in W3. I use a full set of Dwayna which is mainly Power, Toughness and Vitality, with a splash of Prec and healing pwr. My feelings, a dead Ranger does no damage, so I like Vitality, 24k with my bow, Healing power gives me 940/tick of Troll Ungent, coupled with Camo in plain site, a strong HP pet with pet takes all damage for 6 sec. I can be a tough kill. I don’t kill anything, but when I run with folks, I help them kill stuff.

But you dont get set bonus.

you don’t get bonus from the armor set, it’s from the runes in it.
you can change the runes.

i think runes of the undead would be the best for trapper.

by the way, the karma vendor at the door to arah has 4 pieces of condition, precision and toughness medium armor. the other two are from balthazar and lyssa, i think.

I just got my exotics and run a full set of Melandru. The defensive stats really help me stay up in WvW. I use food and accessories to get extra power and precision. When I can get a second set, they will be pretty much zerker all the way.
