Best pet for champ farming
This depends on your setup and if you’re with a group or soloing.
For soloing, the devourers are no joke. They kill slower than other pets, but can take a beating like no one else. If you’re traited and equipped for healing, the possibility of the pet dying goes pretty much out the window.
For speed, the cats do the job. Just remember, they cannot take a beating like a devourer, so you may have to switch cats before one dies.
I recommend you test both, and other pets, in the PvP rest area where the two boss champions are. I can solo both, no problems or chance of dying. But, again, the devourers shine brightest against champions and world bosses.
For veterans and generic mobs, the cats are the way to go.
Hope this answer helps.

Yeah thst helps alot mate thanks alot.
Am just coming back to gw after a break and want to try the new grandmaster traits and I miss the longbowclol
Like all pet choices it depends on a lot of things. I’m fond of pairing up the Jaguar with the River Drake. I’ll usually swap out the Jaguar. It’s worth noting I haven’t used a non-beastmaster build in a very, very long time.
Cats have the best single target DPS. If your pets survival isn’t an issue, there’s little reason not to take a cat. Jaguars can avoid being targetted and boost their damage and Jungle Stalkers give group might.
Drakes are our only pet that cleaves on their attacks. They’re pretty kitten hard to kill too and have half our blast finishers. River’s F2 avoids the complications of conditions and is 5 bouncing projectiles for crazy damage, Marsh has 5 bouncing /homing/ projectiles.
Devourers and Spiders provide ranged damage, both will spend time using low damage control effects, I’ve never seen them dodge circles, but I’ve also never seen them standing in them. Carrion Devourer has a handy poison field, Lashtail has a powerful bleeding barrage. Cave Spiders have a handy weakness+vulnerability venom, Widow and Jungle immobilize which is suprisingly useful, Forest will inflict 21 decades of poison on her victim.
Then there’s the “passive” pets you use purely for their F2s. I’ve got no experience with them and don’t recommend it. But y’know, gives porcine pets a time to shine I guess.

If by champ farming you mean running with a huge zerg around the map killing champs for boxes in seconds:
Take GS or Sword/Horn+Longbow with Eagle Eye trait + Guard! Shout with Nature’s Voice trait. Spam this ability on cooldown to have perma swiftness and prot for your pet, zip around in melee set, if champion is on the horizon start tagging with LB then swap to melee. As for pets, One ranged(not a spider, they tend to cast spray which takes precious time, similar to birds casting swiftness or drakes casting tail blast) and a cat (they attack almost instantly after swap or calling).

I still swear by drakes as my go-to for at least one of my pets for champs. Their finisher, general tankiness, and cleave (to help deal with any adds that might spawn) are pretty valuable. And since champs are pretty dumb and usually just stand still, it’s viable to land hits with the F2 on drakes that are usually problematic like salamander and reef. Don’t underestimate moas either. hey are good for a quick swap, heal, and buff but I wouldn’t leave tem in the fight too long. They can take a few hits, but not many. In champ trains however, I actually like using moas and porcines (be sure to choose the right one, each one’s forrage skill brings up different items so plan accordingly) simply for group buffing. like people said though, try them out and see which works best for you.
I usually run with two drakes. They can take it and dish it out with F2. The one with poison couples nice with your damage over time. This is general solo. Not zerg train. Zerg train… Isn’t anything viable?
Artdoctus with 30 into BM taing Invigorating bond is pretty good. Bear DPS is pretty mediocre, but F2 every 15 seconds lets you spam that heal a lot. So you can heal the pet without wasting your own.
SB w/Sigil of Water and Sigil of Life (if running zerk) is a nice way to gain decent healing for the pet while it is in melee.

There was a post a little while back discussing this, many ideas and reasons for the pets were discussed. might want to go check it out and see if you can find something that suits you:

Sword/warhorn and jungle stalker for group might with snow leopard for backup, Keep cats on passive. Send in to attack when there is no AoE
Trait for spotter and enhanced spirts, run with frost spirit, signet of the hunt and RaO.
Anything else is a waste of time.
