Hey y’all I’m currently running a condi survival build ATM useing a/d s/t. My question is what pet do you guys use and what’s ur explanation?
Currently I’m using juvenile Lynx for the rendering pounce which is 3.300 dmg bleed as an f2 ability and it also has maul which is an automatic ability it uses that also make a 3,300 bleed, and my other pet is juvenile marsh drake, I use him for the f2 insect swarm which is a 2460 dmg poison. As well as he applys weakness.

Either condi or power ranger build, I would always recommend using either wolf + drakehound or wolf + spider combo. The reason why you want these pets is basically because locking down your opponents with immobilizes and knockdowns makes it much easier to apply your damage.

Wolf: You always want this pet as one of your two pets. The knockdown and the fear from the pet is just too good compared to anything else.

Drakehound: Having a second dog for the cc and an AoE immobilize makes the build great because you can combo those ccs really well with your weapon skills.

Spider: Has a passive telegraphed immob and one that the other player cannot see coming. The poison is great and using it to block projectiles (since it stands still and damages from range) makes this one of my favorite pets in the game.

Also other options like the river drake and even birds can work, but are less effective imo. Even double moas could be decent I think LOL.

Wolf + Black widow are the bests imo, levridrake is also good (for pvp). The reason why : control is essential to stay alive, stack up more condi and to be usefull in teamfights. One thing to know about pets is that their stats are not the same as you’re, the lynx like all the other pets have 0 in condi damage, so the bleed is just ridiculous. Marsh drake can be ok imo, but it’s not my favorite.

Wolf + River Drake.

Wolf for KD + Fear. Have it leap through your fire field.
Drake for f2 + Blast. Blast your healspring.

Just to be clear in case this wasn’t already known … your pets’ conditions’ damage is based off of your pets’ stats. You could be tanky, power, condition, etc. and your pets’ attacks and conditions’ would do the same damage.

One thing to think about when looking at conditions is:

• Do I want to stack more of the same condition(s)
• Do I want to stack more types of conditions(s)

For example: The Ranger isn’t known for their ability to apply confusion, but we do have the Reef Drake which can apply it for us.

The reason you want to ask this is this. If you are applying burning, poison, and bleed and your pets only apply those as well, then a condition cleanse that removes 3 will leave your opponent with 0 conditions. If you took the Reef Drake, then you’d possibly have 4 conditions on your opponent meaning that they’d still have one of those conditions on them even after the cleanse.

So, just something to keep in mind.
Canines are nice for their sweet CC.
I’d rank Spiders after Canines simply because I think Knockdown > Immobilize and I prioritize that CC over the Poison that spiders also bring to the table.

Do note that even something like the vulnerability applied by a Feline pet can be useful. That vulnerability can “shield” some of your other conditions from cleanses … though it can also be turned into protection by cleanses that convert conditions into boons.

Play around with various combinations based on what you want and I’m sure you’ll find a good balance.

I run the lynx just because what u wrote down – also the F2 has a nice leap so it will hit moving targets better. As second pet its the wolf – cause of the fear/knockdown/cripple.
