Specc’ing for zerker build with a longbow and shortbow.

I don’t know what to do anymore. Quit the game? 100+ gold that I saved to get that T3 armor and Exotic weaponry was pretty much the savings of my full time playing GW2 (3-4 months – ish).

I sincerely though we would come out better than before this patch. I was terribly wrong. Is there any way for a non trapper ranger to be even remotely half viable now?

I got my Ranger to 80 right before the patch to. I was so happy, but then this stupid patch came out and ruined so many of the ranger builds. I am having trouble finding a new non-bunker build. Long bow and short bow were one of the funnest weapons it sucks they aren’t good together any more.

Oh hey, I made my 300 gold+ investment on Volcanus(still a work in progress, 200 moltens left), looks like I made the right decision.

Use a greatsword.

I didn’t spend as much gold yet, but I understand where you’re coming from. Due to the changes I have to make some adjustments to my play style, fortunately I was using a great sword before the buff, but now I have look into buying new exotic weapons, superior runes, etc.

Its good to know that in an MMO.. things change a lot.

Just realize that if you go for a specialized build, there is a good chance something will change to affect it. It is frustrating every single time, dont get me wrong. But, definitely expect it to happen.

Im not sure how much consideration was given towards rangers with quickness. My only hope is that in the next couple patches, they can start to work towards fixing some of the issues that people are obviously having.

You invested in a longbow. That alone was a mistake.

I made legendary LB and bought commander on ranger. Don’t regret it (yet).
I have some problems with adapting build to quickness nerf and maybe I’ll finally make an alt, but surely ranger will stay my main.

~1000Gold+ here on my Ranger.
Looks more wasted every month.

I have 3 level 80 rangers. SB/Axe trap, zerker lb/sb, GS/SB tanky dps. I regret nothing. The class has a high skill cap, partly due to the pet management. Watch videos of other rangers playing and try to pick out the little details that make them good at what they do.

Every death is a chance to analyze the cause. Did you get outplayed? Did you get countered? Did you make a mistake? Try this next time.

TBH this is why the lack of GW1 insignias is an epic fail on anet’s part…you should be able to easily change the stats of the armor you like.

Longbow really ain’t that bad.

Why do you consider it wasted. Berserker gear is still fine and even if it wasn’t transmuting it on something else will take like 15g maximum. There are many viable playstyles.

that’s because thieves got nerfed too, you might as well post that you seem more powerful vs warriors XD

try seeing how you do vs eles or mesmers now, we need quickness to take down these classes.

As for the 100+ gold, i feel bad for ya, it makes me appreciate PvP – i can just respec, i’d say try to make it work if that fails put ur gear in the bank for a few months, maybe things will change? in the meantime…. PvP?

I think i’m the only one who made a condition damage longbow build after they nerfed the QZ raw damage one… Just adapt, it’ s not the end of the world, you can always transmute your pretty skins onto the new gear =D!

Woooooosh. That’s the point going over your head as you sit in a box ignoring all the changes to the game just so you can focus on one change to justify your moaning.

I also I have no problem fighting Elementals with permanent vigor. Only problem I’d ever have with an Elemental is catching one that cheesed it when he noticed mashing his head on the keyboard wasn’t working with me.

This is the stuff I was talking about buying, if anyone has any suggestions.

I never particularity played in WvW, and mainly stay in open world PvE, so I didn’t bother doing this due to the expense, and the fact that I don’t play in a competitive environment, but I have to switch some things up up now. (Yes, killing speed is important to me in open world) I took the 5 points out of BM, and added them to skirmishing, so I ended up with, 20 marksmanship/ 30 skirmishing / 20 Wilderness Survival.

My main gear is Zerker armor with ruby orbs, and knights trinkets with SB/GS. (it’s the play style that I most enjoy after playing around with a few things before crafting exotic armor)

So far I have (I still need to purchase the bolded)

1x exotic SB with superior sigil of accuracy

1x exotic SB (need to buy superior sigil of battle)

1x exotic SB with sigil of battle

1x GS with sigil of battle

1x GS with sigil of battle

I’m getting duplicates for situations when I want to stay 100% in melee, or 100% ranged.

Your point was that the patch hasn’t effected your ability to kill, I haven’t missed your point, i’m saying that you’re wrong, quickness nerf makes it much harder to kill – why do you think they nerfed it if it has no impact????

The funny thing is you even admitted yourself you can’t stop eles running – almost no class can, especially now we have less burst.

Assuming you’re playing WvW, you need snare skills for your pet to hit, there’s really no way around it. Just equip Muddy Terrain and Entangle, and get Agility Training (pets move 30% faster). That should pretty much do it. If you’re playing a sylvari, then get Grasping Roots instead of Muddy Terrain.

Entire wealth of my charecter spent. Now I stand around in town looking pretty. I don’t think anyone who plays Longbow can honestly say the weapon is “not that bad”. It was extremely clunky before the patch, now it’s virtually unusable in WvW. So incredibly easy to dodge, and zero burst potential.

I would go further and say it has a “high reaction-time cap.” A lot of times I know what to do…I just don’t do them in time normally. Could be my lack of a lot of keybinds I suppose, but I just can’t seem to react fast enough with my keys. Too much liquor in my youth mayhap? Or too old?
