Blue's Axe/Axe zerker build.
Pro:
- Agree, you should do some good damage
Con:
- Low survivability. Anything gets on you, it’s over (which is kind of the point of GC)
- fat and slow with no mobility in or out of combat. You axes are your ranged. Why the LB ? I would use GS for both in tight fighting and mobility.
Well, since you’re GC you don’t want to be in melee range. So you want to be ranged and thus I chose LB.

They can send a mesmer or thief to quickly dispose of you even if you are in range because with Blink or shadowstepping they can get on top of whichever structure you are and 3-shot you.
1 knockback and 2 stunbreakers should help, besides before they are close you can already nuke them. But yeah not saying it outperforms anything but if you want to play a glasscannon ranger this is probably your best bet.
I use a similar build for badge farming in WvW but I swap the 30 points from Wilderness Survival into Marksmanship instead for Signet of the Beastmaster, then use Signet of Stone instead of Signet of the Wild.
It produces good damage output from range, tags lots of people easily and has acceptable survivability for zerg fights, where just activating Signet of Stone or using Lightning Reflexes is often enough to get pressure transferred off of you and onto one of the other many available targets nearby.
I would not use that build or that gear for smaller-scale PvP, though, because once your utility skills are on cooldown you have almost no defense at all.

Whether you don’t want to be in melee isn’t the point…because eventually, you will be in melee. Especially against Thieves, who start the fight in melee when they want, since they have stealth.
Even tougher to stay out of melee when you are using a 900 ranged weapon in axes. LB does more damage and does that damage from 1500 units. LB and axes don’t really complement each other.
It sounds like this is a theorycraft playstyle though so take it out into the field and let us know how it worked out for you.
. If you do it correctly, you will kill fast (relative to Rangers), and, you will die fast.
