Hey guys , i have been goofing off a bit with the character editor a bit after reading some interesting builds posted in the last few days . It might seem kind of silly at first , but bear with me for a while .

The idea behind the build is sustained composite damage while maintaining some defense and dodge ability .

Traits : 0 10 30 0 30 *

Armor and weapons : Rampager (precision, power, condition damage)

Trinkets : Celestial

Weapons : Short bow with superior Sigil of Fire , Sword and torch/dagger with superior Sigil of Hydromancy and Flaming uration/Poison duration *

Runes : Superior runes of Lyssa *

Pets : Hawk and Eagle *

So the logic behind this build is fairly simple , a semi beastmaster raw force build , but the ranger way . As it stands the best approach to build ranger would be beastmaster or conditioner , so why not both but take the offense route instead of defense ?? It is fairy simple honestly and plenty versatile . Power + precision + condition + Sigil of fire gives good sustained damage with AOE procs , which would be helpful vs those nasty mesmers .

You got your healthy dose of condition removal : shared anguish , emphatic bond , healing spring and lyssa bonus no. 6 .

You got solid power : 1500+ , solid condition damage : 900+ , excelent precision : 1900+ , and moderate survivability with 2500 armor , health regeneration and lots of evades and dodges given by your weapon choice , Lightning reflexes and vigorous pet training .

It’s almost what I have exept I use knight’s armor with a mix of berserker/divinity jewels, this would probably work pretty well too but I think Lyssa is a bad choice as you already have a high amount of crit and the condition duration really doesn’t add anything as you would need more to get an extra bleed tick I think thief runes are a better choice or maybe even rune of the pack for a good chunk of both power and precision I use them cause of that and it’s a nice bonus they are fairly cheap too.

Ok, still sounds like little profit on long CDs for the most part.

The way I personally would alter this build is to switch the runes out for either Forge runes or Scholar runes, depending on whether I felt I needed more damage or survival.

That’s a personal preference though, I feel rangers have enough condi removal without having to invest in Lyssa runes.

I prefer Melandru Runes over Lyssa runes, but that’s just me!!

My only concern is wont empathetic bond hurt your damage/utility a lot due to using birds? Last I checked they weren’t the greatest in the survivability department PRIOR to being your condi sponge…

Other than that it looks pretty solid, I may test it out in tPvP, looking to switch it up a little again!

Meh birds are there to provide some DPS and vigor on swap , and to spam their f2 . Most of the dps comes from short bow auto attack with a lot of critical chance causing sigil of fire procs.

In essence is a glass cannon-ish simple build

Ah ok, so your birds are there more to keep you going (albeit while dealing damage) than to be a main source of DPS?

I think you should reconsider your trinkets. The way you have your traits set up combined with your armor stats basically says “I want everything.” The problem with that is that since your stats are so split between everything, you are mediocre in all areas, and great in none. I think you’ll do a lot better with some sort of trinket combo that combines toughness with condition damage – preferably the toughness/healing/condition stat combo. It’ll give you more survivability, trade the useless power/precision/crit+ stats in your build for more relevant healing (which is seriously OP on rangers) and condition damage, and give your build an overall greater focus.

You may be doing good with it set up like this, but on a build so heavily condition-based as this one, you’re really wasting a lot of potential in the toughness/condition damage area that these trait lines excel at.

I wanted a build that maximizes my outgoing DPS with the short bow while giving me sufficient dodge and sustain .

I want to craft the bolt legendary so I am searching for alternative builds to the dual bow beastmaster I am running now, unless i stick with it and craft kudzu , if they buff longbows

I used to run Lyssa runes on both my power and condition builds, but now I run Vampire runes … and luve it so much more.

Full cleric gear, with Dwayna Runes, SB/GS. One of the better builds since all I have to do is make sure the enemy is snared in some way while keeping myself alive while my birds kill the target.

Ye , but you are a bunker , this is a GC… i just want to find a good build for mah bolt legendary… when i make it in 100 years

Kind of a weird Glass Cannon if you have Wilderness Survival o_O
