To be honest I think rangers should be able to use rifles. Rifles are used for long range and it would make sense for a "Range"r to be able to use one. Also make the rifle better than the LB please, because that would make sense. (I feel that I don’t have to explain that last sentence further but if you wish, I will break it down for your upon request (Warning it will be TL;DR and full of real world physics XD))

Because Weapon attack range doesnt make weapon skills the same. I hope you know that right.

A rifle and Bow are two different weapons in this game.

In GW2 weapons have skills linked to them that are unique to them per class.

a Warrior has both Rifle and Bow, yet neither are the same. So your argument is not liable.

Warrior longbow is aoe, rifle is single target.

Ranger longbow is single target, so rifle must be aoe? Makes zero sense at all.

Longbow already takes the role of the back line range attack. What would rifle bring to be different?

Ranger is a naturalist class, not an archer, the sooner you accept that the better. Archers don’t tame pets. Archers don’t summon spirits to help them. And archers don’t have their highest damage weapons being melee. I repeat the ranger is not an archer, and rifle does not fit in with the lore, nor fix any outstanding issues.

Hate to be the bringer of bad news but anet is never gonna give rifle to ranger because they are nature theme or something like that just make a warrior.

Long range, single target, direct damage. Like a sniper. And the Longbow could then be used for more AoE damage.

glue some gears on it and call it steampunk. Then it will fit everywhere
