The F2 cannot hit anything that’s not on the same level of height.

I tested on the NPC in Heart of the Mist, the Necromancer and Ranger and only a slop (barely to the knee of an asura) will make all the attacks hit the air, or ground.

The ability is very similar to Rapid Fire, I think it might not work as intended.

Since Anet was very quick at fixing Smokescale, I hope the dev will look at this soon.

Yeah, and it’s the same thing with the actual bristleback mob. If you stand in the right place, the bombardement cannot hit you.
