Hey All,

So before I get annihilated with feedback i’ll give you my Ranger backround. I roughly have 2500 hours played in GW2 with less than 200 on my ranger. The other 2300 is on my Mesmer lol.

Lately I been playing with my ranger (mostly LB/GS) and been really enjoying it. However that being said I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to play the norm. Seems most builds involve a LB or GS if not both.

I decided to work on a shout heal build and got a lot of ideas and feedback from the forums and just had 2 questions.

1 – looking at this build what pets would you use and why?
2 – any feedback or suggestions on my setup?

I would switch oak heart salve to offhand training. you already have plenty if regen up time.

For pets I’d go with wolf and a dps pet like cat or bird. Ravens blind comes in handy for stomping people

TY for tip on the pets. I actually meant to use offhand training and must have hit oak heart by accident.

i made a slight alteration to your build, opting for more control, better sustain through spreading out evades (ST AD instead of SD AT).
Runes changed to Water (+20% boon duration, passive condi cleanse every 25 sec, roughly 1400 HP extra when using healing skill).

I also changed from +33% regen duration, to Protection when taking more then 10% HP in one strike. This trait was selected because it really helps VS burst setups. Offering you crucial defense VS direct damage. With the added 20% boon duration, you can get 98% uptime of regeneration, you really only have 1.2 seconds downtime at worst.

Other runes to consider:
Krait
Aristocracy (Dungeon runes)
Trooper/Soldier (remove 1 condi on shout)
Forgeman (Dungeon runes), very good for defense.

For food i suggest you use one of the foods offered during the current Lunar New Year event. It is called http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sweet_Bean_Bun

Stock up on these. They cost a bit on the TP, but as you can see. +25% duration (outgoing) and -40% (incoming) is the best defensive/offensive food available at this moment.

pro tip:
If you feel like buying loads of these is a hassle. convert gold to gems and cash in on the current sale on metabolic primers. Activate one of these prior to using any food, and the food will have its duration increased from whatever it was up till 12 hours.

Lv 80 Guard, Ranger, Ele, Thief, warr, engi

awesome ty for feedback, i’ll have to test it out. I really must have been tired cause I been running S/T & A/D last 2 days. Not sure why I entered the opposite.

I actually prefer axe torch when I’m roaming. Axe/dagger sword/torch is better when you are disputing a node in pvp but in WvW you are much better off using hit and run tactics.
