[Build] "MAD-SEED DRUID" - a selfish druid
Happy for y’all that y’all have a good build for PVP.
What makes you think it won’t be fun/effective in PvE?
Because of the fact you said
“This is gonna be a kiting immobilize/cripple/bleed machine”
Where in the tyria am I gonna need that???
Oh and your using a shortbow.
Again – anyone who uses a ranger shortbow in PvE is just trolling ….
I quite enjoy using shortbow in OWPvE. Always have. I think it’s very fun and useful for different encounters in the open world.
Do you actually mean to specify iPvE (instanced PvE) with your generalized “PvE” statement?
If so, using “PvE” in your comment includes all forms of PvE, instanced as well as open world. If you mean specifically that it is “trolling” to use it in instances, it would be good to say that specifically instead of using a general “PvE” for your remark.

I just tried out this build Nike (BWE3) its so much fun both in PvE and WvW
Tried out a variance of this build and it works wonderfully.
Learn as much mending and medical info as possible so that it can be added to the Dream.
Become the first Chief of Mending and guide the newly awaken as well as those who want to learn.
i really also like the staff redux thread which i think adds to this discussion as well… the staff should alslo be enhanced with conditions to make it a hybrid condi-power weapon and make it viable in such a druid condi build – this would make a lot of sense imo
Heh heh hehh heh hhhehhhhh.
The seeds have been planted.
Soon, it’s harvest time.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Now this thread is what druid is all about!!! i’m also speccing almost the same build as the op. but opted for nature magic, marksmanship and druid instead!!
chose seed of life for the druid just to give it a more plant based feel to it, instead of natural stride. have the warhorn for that
nature magic cause surviving is important for me
has anyone tried sinister instead of rabid….?
I am thinking of rabid or sinister for the damage build and apothecary for the support/healing build….
Got some changes coming and it’s nothing but buffs !~
Hey all,
Since the third beta weekend there’s been a lot of great feedback – thanks!
- Grace of the Land: This trait has been re-worked. Instead of its former behavior, allies affected by your celestial avatar abilities gain 3% damage and condition damage increase for 8 seconds. This buff stacks 5 times.
While of slight interest to offense-minded druids, this won’t displace Ancient Seed as the core of the Mad-Seed build.
- Glyph of Alignment: Increased the weakness and cripple duration on this skill from 3s to 5s. Reduced the cast damage by 66%. This skill now applies 3 stacks of poison.
Nice. A great change for hybrid or hybrid-leaning-towards-condi builds. More poison gives more coverage to the bleeds.
- Celestial Avatar Form: Entering this form now has a 10s CD. Charging of Astral force by healing has been reduced by 40%. Charging of Astral force by outgoing strikes has been increased by 200%. You now retain half your current astral force if you decide to break form early.
This is glorious for offensive Druids, especially with Druidic Clarity as a condition wipe. 10 second cooldown for full condi-wipe while keeping half your astral force as you leave the form almost as soon as possible in many cases? Yes, yes, and YES.
Soon… Soon it will be harvest time…
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

This is a more offensive variation I ran during BWE3…… If you stay in control and are good at dodging, it is pretty evil. I roam solo in WvW primarily, so it was a blast to play with. There a few really powerful synergies between traits/sigils that make it fun!
Staff 3 into smoke field then swap to GS for double crit maul out of stealth is a great little tool.
Conversely, you can swoop in, daze/stun, maul and then staff swap for daze/chill/damage/poison/immobilize/bleed….. Hopefully this was set up by a spike trap knockdown or an Entangle…..
I toyed around with Glyph of Unity, I really like the 20s cooldown and Krait runes on 30s recharge. If you can time it for exactly 10s after it comes off cooldown, you get a proc of Krait runes again. As opposed to every 2 entangles.
The mobility side is great also, on top of the Natural Stride speed, you can Ancestral Grace to max range, swap to GS and double Swoop away from baddies. As long as you’re in combat and need to bail that is.
I still manage close to 3000 armor and almost 400 healing power on top of 900+ Condi and 2000+ attack.
I really wish there was some type of Stability I could take in this build, but I can’t find a reliable source. And Condi removal is the next problem. It is tied to Avatar form. The third problem is the stun break is also tied to Avatar.
Realistically, For the final version, I’ll likely incorporate either Strength of the pack or Signet of the wild along with Lightning Reflexes. I just haven’t played around with it enough to decide where I can change things. I may even go Glyph of Unity/Signet of the Wild…. I’ll find out in 9 days!
Let the offensive druids UNITE!
Ashen Mistwalker: WvW Tank/Crit Revenant
Oaken Earthlore: WvW Medi/Bunker Guardian
Finally sat down and ran my Ranger through all of Verdant Brink, completing Druid (though you don’t need the Elite skill for this build).
O.M.G. has this been fun in events. Some of the most ferocious PBAoE damage I’ve ever had the pleasure to dish on a Ranger. You can also drill through break bars like nobody’s business. Once I had it leveled up I went for a stroll in WvW and it smashes camps and shrines in seconds.
f5 is still good for burst heals, but its a CC/DPS build through and through.

i’m working on viper gear for my ranger and this play on your build. should technobable be affected by MoC? it doesnt seem to update the tooltip in game. any thoughts/opinions on these changes?
