The difference between Power Ranger vs. Power Druid is Ancient Seeds.
Ancient seeds will immobilize any target that has been knocked back, launched, dazed or stunned. This lets Ancient seed be synergetic with Point blank shot and Hilt Bash.

Astral force generation seems almost non-existent. Also… shortbow? …
looks fun. I prefer the staff over any other long range weapon atm cuz of #1 and #3, which are OP.
shortbow has way too many problems, i.e. it just doesn’t do damage. if you need the daze from it to proc AS, then just get your dazes elsewhere. we have more daze than mesmers.
Been looking at something similar myself, but wanted to get max astral generation from TU since its already pretty good. TU can fill Astral Force in just one use with this build. At best with 5 allies around you, TU will give 142.5% of the Astral Force bar with this, so its going to be pretty easy to fill that bar afterall. Added bonus of healing nearby allies for 2777 on TU use too + possible 20% more with Natural Mender.

Troll Unguent and pew pew gives astral force pretty fast. And you don’t need CAF right away in combat, only if things go sideways.

Oops, it meant to be longbow.
Also, I have been generating Astral force. I’m not sure how. But it is a bit useful in keeping me alive when I have no other utilities. I am just not using Celestial form as my main weapon.

Can anyone say if you need to be in combat to generate AF?

this looks really good. I’m gonna try it over my remorseless/MoC variant. it’s a tough choice, MoC makes GS #4 a 3s daze, equality glyph becomes 4s, and avatar #3 is 6s. I’m trading that for extra taunt cc so it might work out.
did you try GS/staff btw? I’m finding spamming staff #1 with air/fire sigils to be highly effective. mostly because no1 can shake that beam from them. it’s not a projectile and it pierces. so I don’t need another long range option.

I would use NM over BM. The reason is because of protective ward. Without it, the power ranger can be ganked really fast without you being able to react.
Plus, taunt doesn’t work with Ancient seed.

Imo Taunt alone is so awesome it’s worth taking. Also BM makes pets more reliable. You don’t need the Protective Ward really.

If you want to be instagib by thieves, then you don’t need protective ward.
After running staff instead of GS, I found it to be a lot more effective. Especially when I have the staff daze trait. Now, if I miss with my PBS, I can switch to my staff and immobilize them from there or maybe escape with staff 3.

If you want to be instagib by thieves, then you don’t need protective ward.
That rarely happens, with Bark Skin, SoS, LR… Thieves can’t instagib if you react.
You do not really need it considering you can fill up the Astral energy before you even get to combat. If you get ganked pop Avatar and just heal back up all the while dazing him, slowing, immobilizing and taunting him.
On the notion of Greatsword. Yes I am thinking about it. Staff/GS will make for some insane mobility. However, the Longbow makes you a great roamer. Its a tough choice for me.
if you go GS/Staff, you don’t need protective ward and u can just grab Remorseless and MoC, if u don’t like taunt. equality glyph dazes the thief for 4 seconds, instacast. not to mention u can traverse 2400 range in seconds.

Yeah I always pre load it while waiting for que pop.
I really hope building astral force outside of combat is intentional. I’d like to be able to enter the Avatar State in cities and such for roleplay purposes.
Though I have a feeling they’ll remove it. If necromancers can’t start with full life force I can’t imagine them letting us begin with full astral force.

I took the Black Moa for the extra Daze, and with Ancient Seeds traited this build was full of immobs and long cripples (which synergised great with Natural stride making me feel untouchable)
