So which ranger heal should i use.
Any traits/runes/sigils i should switch (dont have a lvl 80 yet just making a build to aim for).
Any thoughts on the second pet (having a selection of different secondary pets for this build would be lovely).

Edit: And if i was going to switch out sick em should i use frost trap or muddy terrain. Would trait for survival skills if i swapped in the latter.

Its an interesting build. I like the mobility you’re going to have. You’ll need the get in and out of fights pretty quickly because while your toughness is decent, your health is on the low end and you have next to no healing. I’m going to go right out there and say the weakness is going to be survivability. The three ways that I’ve seen ranger survivability done well are with:
1) A longbow using remorseless/invis to control the pace of the fight.
2) Signet of Stone to get the invuln which I’m going to say is more common with these power builds.
3) Regen and evades.

You’re doing none of that so let suggest an alternative. Switch out one of your sigils of enegy for a sigil of leaching. For your heal use healing spring. Switch out your axe for a WH. Use your two leap finishers and blast finisher in the water field for extra healing. Hopefully this well let you keep up the pressure long enough to take your target down.

And yes, I think you can get rid of Sic ‘Em. That isn’t because I don’t like the skill, but because I’m skeptical that you’ll be beating thieves. Muddy terrain would help you keep your enemy where you want them.

For a pet, a wolf never hurts. Oh, and try companions might instead of carnivorous appetite. I think its the pet crits that grant the pet health, so not so handy in WvW where pet hits are harder to come by.

Granted this is sPvP but i run GS/SB. Short bow allows some nice kiting/evades and #5 is a stun, which is great with MoC. Also the auto does decent damage.

I widdle my target down with sb, pop concussion shot, switch to GS, swoop in, hilt bash, maul. By that time they’re bursted down, most likely. Also, counterattack blocks when running away.

Canines do some pretty nasty damage on their leaps too (which is a knockdown/interrupt as well) so taking Pet’s Prowess (I) in Skirmishing would benefit you even better. Also in the master slot, if you decide to run SB, you’ll want to take Quick Draw.

This is generally what i run with.

As for sigils I think Demus is correct with sigils of leeching.

Hmm never used sigil of leeching always thought i could prevent more damage with proper dodges i will have to try it out. Gonna keep the axe offhand love path of scars interrupt works great with the grandmastertrait (in between that gs bash and boar forage i have been able to trigger it lots in pvp). Companions might turned out to stack more than i though in dueling so definite take the other trait was kind of a filler. And as for beating thieves are they really that tough on ranger never seem to have problems with them on my mes and engi unless they are super good (ran a cross server dueling guild for a few months and it was mostly thieves that would show so i got really good at knowing how to predict them).

Any tips on fighting outnumbered as a power ranger? I plan on running with a buddy running some sort of healbot build.

Hi, intersting. i wounder if it will work.
my input: change 10 beastmastery to 10 marksmanship – malicious training. +100 power and +50% condi uptime to ypir pet. I also think that your pets of choise should be 2 spiders due to fact that only you get the passive speed bonus not the pet. With spiders is not an issue. I also think that between pirmal reflexes, lighting reflexes and natural vigor you have enough vigr reg, take Sigil of Hydromancy its a nice freez and the effect can crit whcih have a nice synegry with your power and +crit dmg%.

I don’t have so much experience with power ranger builds, but I’ll take a crack at it.
Fighting outnumbered is an endurance game. Abuse your mobility and pick the right time to burst down the weakest target. You’ve got the stuns going for you. Players tend to panic when they get stunned. Try and hit them with one and see if you can get them to blow a break or a heal. Their cooldown should be longer than your 20 second hilt bash. On the next round lock them down and finish them off… at least in theory.

I play a celestial 0/30/30/10/0 hybrid condi/crit build which uses the regen/mobility/condi to wear them down and hunter’s call/RaO/Sic ’em to finish them off. Not so different, but not really the same either.

I like spiders, but the boar is essential in this build for the chance of a 6sec stun or other great cc. And with all the cc the only thing that can really slip though the stuns is a shatter mesmer or a triple stun break thief.

I use Heal as One because it heals up the most in short time.
In WvW, you can barely trust 10-sec term regens with basic start heal and slightly bigger heal output at the end. Its up to the Supporters to apply them on you. When people zerging, spreading, etc, its not likely to stay within the effect range.
