Hey,
I’m thinking of gearing up a druid for high-end fractals and raids, with the intention of acting as the main healer.
I was wondering what stat distribution would be the best?
Metabattle suggests full berserk/assassin for a power/support druid and full viper’s for a condition/support druid.

My question is: Can a druid properly heal parties and raids despite not having any healing power stats at all, or would a Magi’s build be necessary to achieve that?

Your healing in full zerker/assassins will suck, I’d recommend doing Magi armor for raids, since you don’t want to have any toughness in raids so the tank with barely more toughness than a zerker can hold aggro.

However if you’re ONLY doing fractals and other non raid related PvE content I’m pretty sure clerics would be better since power is better than just precision.

If you want the most “optimal” damage healer set up you’re going to want to sell some body parts and any kids you’ve got and pick up zealots for the minor damage increase it’ll bring you while you’re out of the avatar state.

This is the build you’ll want to run most of the time btw, if healing not very necessary for your group (super experienced, almost no errors etc) then you may want to start transitioning into a more damage focused Druid build if you want to clear as fast as possible.

If you’re with pugs or inexperienced players the linked build will be better, and also wouldn’t be bad in a good group either.

You can get the Zealot trinkets and back item from the LS maps, pretty easy to get a set, then with the Zealot weapons and Magi armor, you’ll have a bit over 900 extra power than full Magi. That’s a significant damage increase. I just prefer full Zealots.

If your intention is to main a healer for raids and fractals, go with the above linked Magi healer. Zealot’s is all right, but Druid damage is already paltry. If you can find yourself a stable and experienced group or guild, then move onto Berserker. Zealot’s, while fine, is middle-of-the-road gear.

You’ll have better luck getting into groups as a Magi healer, especially in PUGs, and it serves as great training gear when learning and teaching new raiders – something to think about in the long run.

It’s actually only Druid that can heal, ranger is still the ruthless killing machine it normally is
