Trying to come up with a build that uses shortbow, but so far the only success I’ve had is not very effective, if it can be called success at all.

I simply took a cleric’s amulet, a SB with S/W with energy and leeching sigils on both sets. Then took LR, Mud, a SoS (But not fixed).

Went full BM and took the quickdraw trait in Skirmishing.

The build got called a “troll” build by a thief because of the high healing.

All that aside…

Is there any viable but still possible to kill with SB build for pvp?

sadly SB is no longer main weapon for most rangers now.

I was still using SB+S/D for a kite evade fun build after the “40 millisecond nerf”, but after they nerfed its range from 1200 to 900, I just feel its not worth taking SB over Axe+any now.

SB is sick

Tried it, it sucks. No offense, but SB is lacking. It would be much better if the bleeding was always applied, but doubtable even then.

I wasn’t a fan of sb either till krait runes appeared.
x/2 (bleed on crit)/6/6/x with sigil for bleed on crit and even facing an opponent straight on you get 5+ bleeds with rabid; easily 15+ when flanking which is pretty forgiving in this game.
Bleed stacking with a sun spirit ( /elite spirit if tpvp) is pretty faceroll.
I use survival utilities with cd and crit+cond removal trait. Entangle and muddy terrain with a spider and you should never have a problem kiting and stacking bleeds (from 4 sources flanking/sigil/trait and 1 bleed from krait runes if hit; not to mention broken lvls of cond removal)
Edit: keep having to increase sources of bleed lmao, forgot elite entangle and on swap sigil so 6 sources. You could add 1 more if you swap out 1 utility for sharpened edges lol

With the build I posted you maintain 8 stacks of bleed from the front, quickly 20+ from the sides or back, wich is not even absolute sides.

It has an evade on short cd, a cripple with no cast time and a decent stun, poison is always welcomed too.

With rampager instead of rabid on the build I posted, using the sigil that grants might on crit, SB AA crits for a respectable 500-600 on heavy golem.

Its fine.

A lot of quickness and poison.

Haven’t tried poison master yet because I don’t have it so it might be the secret to SB rangers xD

How come you chose greatsword over sword/x?
Also, the build is most effective for duels, right?

Yo, Its an “hot join” build, and ya, best for 1v1, GS cus i like the mobility while running from base to base and the block. S/D will also work but kinda slow movment(no movment bonus) with poison master you have enough poison so S/D isnt a must.
The F4+F2 combo is real, ppl dont expect it, the bird landing on your head can crit for 5k with quickness and poiso(while you sb aa with quickness). You low on condi removal but you healing capabilities make up for it. I also like to use pet swap while reviving for speedy revive. Fun build, not competitive but can rule hot join no problem.

The quickness stomp can be handy too sometimes

Ya, but i dont know why, on my comp when i quickness stomp it sometimes doesnt finish the opponent or finish him 1 sec after stomp ended.
BTW, dont take the build head to head vs Bakeyy, his build counters this build very strongly. Duel him with somthing like :

This is what I would use going against Bakeyy’s current build. Counter build Only swap to Sw/D when he closes the gap. Then use Sword #2 to create a huge gap, switch back to SB. Try to stay out of his Entangle range(600) and it should go in your favor. If you don’t want to use Sun Spirit, switch it out for SoR, then switch the two traits to Evasive Purity and Strength of Spirit
