Greetings ,
I have searched for a good build for ranger , and I found that berserker build is the most popular . So I build my ranger on full berserker , running with LB, Greatsword and sometimes Axe and a horn .
Now when I kept playing WvW , I was always dying first , I was the one focused by the enemy and get killed easily . My friends were complaining they cant just keep protecting me every single time .

I havent complete the build yet , and I want your opinions about it before I complete it. , Or I have suggestions for better build

I just feel sorry for rangers , they dont have that survivability and limited escape ways, their damage is about the same as thieves , while thieves can triple dash with their shortbow+ stealth + teleport.
Im not hating rangers , Just looking for a way to keep my ranger better, So please help

Go condi bunker if youre serious about WvW as a ranger. Full dire or apothecary.

My advice is condi too, but try Trapper condi instead…
Spike and Flame trap, axe+torch (more might and more burning) or dagger (ranged cripple+perma poison). even warhorn will do.

I use GS as a secondary weapon for evades and mobility. Also with the upcoming patch you will be able to set up some really good bursts with GS.
Dire + Rabid (0/30/30/10/0 or 10/30/30/0/0)
You can try sword + something too.

Try the zerker ranger if you want but… except to die a lot… I mean.. A LOT!

It’s a no-brainer for solo or small group roaming.

Go condi bunker in full apothecary. You can almost faceroll it 1v1.

Power might be worth looking at after the patch.

If you plan on doing any group activity at all, you need to be a power ranger. Condi bunker damage is pretty much nonexistent.

There are some pretty good tanky greatsword builds on this forum, it sounds like that is what you’re looking for.

Edit: Here is the one I was thinking of. There are lots others, and I don’t know which is best or most up to date, but this is close.

Still a work-in-progress, but basically this build takes advantage of the new NM GM trait Survival of the Fittest. I also came up with two variations for zerging or havoc.

You need toughness for wvw.
A minimum of 2500 for any class, and a recommended amount of 2800.
Even then, this won’t do much other than keep small hits to a minimum, you need to learn to avoid big hits and position yourself so you aren’t focussed.
You also want to try and squeeze in some sustain aka life regen other than your heal, and -condi removal and/or -duration.
You also want a 25% run speed boost but this is personal preference.

Ranger can get all of them very easily, but you will have to make sacrifices.

i prefer using both lb and sb as a zerker in wvw. a zerker ranger doesnt have enough stealth and toughness to stand in the middle of a zerg fight using a melee weapon. i dont have any complaint using a zerker build. its a build that can make you kill a lot if you know what you are doing.
