Q:
Builds for Dungeons - Advice Needed
There is no permanent build for Dungeons. One dungeon might have a lot of mobs that deal direct damage, while other dungeons have mobs that deal condition damage. Also, depending on the group your with, you might have to play more of a support role with some, while others you can use more damage based skills. You have to play to the groups strength and needs, not as much your own. The only permanent thing I do in dungeons is use bears. I usually go with black bear for the weakness, and then polar bear for the chill, except if there’s a lot of condition damage going around, then I go for the brown bear instead. This is only because the damage of mobs in dungeons is so much higher, that it doesn’t make sense to use anything ells then bears, as other pets simply die too fast. Mobs and bosses love to attack pets.

Just don’t go glass cannon and you’ll be alright. Wilderness Survival adds to Condition Damage, so it’s a great branch to use for both damage and survivability.
It also contains my favorite traits, so I may be biased. :x
I used to spec for limited support/off-healing while maintaining decent DPS. Healing Spring is pretty sweet because you can get 50% uptime with it, and the water combo field is excellent.

I use Short Bow and Axe/Warhorn and find the must have traits are:
20 – Marks, for Piercing Arrows
5 – Skirmishing, for Swiftness when swapping weps
15 – Wilderness Skills, for 50% more endurance generation (more dodging) and protection for you and pet when dodging
15 – BM, for Swiftness when swapping pets and reduced pet swap CD.
This leaves 15 points to spend as you wish. I respec alot and but usually come back to adding 5 to Skirmishing to get chance on bleed when crit, 5 to Nature Magic for a little more health and 5 to BM for a little more healing and making Devourer’s (my favorite pet) do more damage.
I swap from Short Bow to axe/warhorn about every 30 seconds to blow the “5” warhorn buff and swapping pets on just about every CD. Pets don’t last long on exploratory mode. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to use them given they die in about 10 seconds on lots of fights.
Depends on what you want to do.
Heal/tank
cond dmg/tank
support
dps
Those are the 4 that i use right now, with cond dmg/tank being the most common, with the pet providing the direct damage.
0/20/30/0/20
pet crit 30%
axe dmg 10%
survival cd -20%
sword, gs cd – 20%
condition removal
3 stack of might on swap
pet family specific trait
GS Dual Axe
or
sword/dagger axe/torch
addtionally my equipment is 35% soldier based, 35% carrion based, and 30% berserker based.
I run warrior runes for the -1 second on weapon swap, in addition to the vit and power stat gain.
I’m sure there are various other builds out there too. You have to identify what you want to do before any real suggestions can be made.
