Bunker Clerics or Apothecary?
It depends on which weapons you want/are using. If you are using direct damage weapons (longbow/GS/warhorn) the clerics would be better. If you are using any of the other weapons, apothecary would be a much better choice.
Overall I feel that apocathery is better because while rangers direct damage is nerfed because of the pet, our condition damage is just as high as the other professions in the game.
People have mixed oppinions and each has its strengths and weaknesses, so really it comes down to which you prefer and which you can make work best.
Against a tanky build like a guardian then apothecary is going to win all day long, but against an oppenent who has gone heavily into condition remove you may find yourslf not doing a lot.
I prefer apothecary, and I like using muddy terrain with it because its fantastic for keeping your oppentent either away from you or stuck to you, depending which you want.

Depends what you want to do, I went the conditon route, my buddy Puandro is cleric bunker and usies GS and sw/d I suggest you give his video/thread a gander as well. Enjoy.

I’ve got a 1vX compilation out (unfortunately haven’t played much this month to get more footage for another. It’s a bunker apothecary build that focuses on evades and stacking soft CCs while damaging conditions work their magic. See video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exaYZq5ZmBk
You can see how well a condition build can match up against classes that have lots of condition removal like thieves (on stealth) and eles (on dodge) here.
So in response to Cleric or Apothecary, I’m slightly biased towards suggesting the apothecary :P

As someone who was originally DD/Cleric’s and switched to Conditions/Apothecary’s, I can concur. I liked Cleric’s but I love Apothecary’s. However, as with anything else, it’s a play-style thing as much as a game mechanics thing and YMMV.
The only thing that annoys me is that when you use axe in mainhand the backpiece bugs out . I simply cant get over that
It really is a play style issue. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. I was Clerics for a long time, I tried Apothecary and while Apoc is a very strong build, it just wasn’t me. I simply prefer Clerics. But that’s what it comes down to…just preference.
I prefer apothecary with power/condition runes, helps to deal decent damage + decent condition damage at the same time. If you go 100% on one you will miss stuff on the other, so if you cannot compensate somehow then balance them to what works for you.

It’s the opposite. Why be half as effective at 2 things instead of being superb at 1?
