Bunny Thumpers...I miss you...

RaO was really fun in GW1. It worked great with daggers, swords, hammers, scythes, almost anything really.
Maybe 15 pet fixes from now it would be a fun option.
Me too; that was fun in PvP.
And Touch Rangers. Good times!
I want my EoE bomb!
I loved the concept of Rangers/Necromancer builds being able to stroke/poke people to death.
R/N: I’ma touch you!
W/-: My armour does nothing!
R/N laughs maniacally
Personally I loved playing R/A with daggers or R/D with scythe. R/A was my favourite though – spam repeating strike while your pet permaknockdowns.

I have to admit the lack of Bunny Thumpers has bugged me since back in beta. It just always seemed like it should be in the game since it was such a big thing in GW1 for so long.
Then again there’s a lot of things about a GW1 ranger I wish had transferred to GW2.
I’ve been saying this since the start. +1
What’s a bunny thumper?
What’s a bunny thumper?
In short, a hammer wielding ranger that just smashes your face in and knocks you around.

I think we all miss those things.
I used axe/shield with heal as one on my ranger. It was pretty awesome <3
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
+1 still waiting for the sequel to Guild Wars, that was my favorite game ever.

Was always amazed that they gave greatswords ot rangers instead of hammers…
When (if) they finally add a weapon to each class (it would add ALOT to every class) Hammer would be a great addition to ranger. Give it a lot of cleave/AOE to shore up our total lack of that.
I think I would like to see staff ranger before hammer.

That was my secondary build, my main one was R/P spear/shield.
Bunny Thumper and Touch Rangers are outdated builds, EoE explosion was very niche but great when possible.
Rangers were good as /Rit with expertise lowering the spirit cost.
So many possibilities back then …
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I created a 7 hero team with I think it was 5 ranger mains, 2 rits for SW, and 1 signet bonding monk to keep up strength of honor on 6 or 7 pets. My ranger had max points into curses for mark of pain, and the other ranger heroes had various other buffing secondaries like paragon. Basically, it took forever to set up, but it exploded just about any mob in the game in a couple hits, to the point you’ll notice I didn’t mention taking any healers (one of the rits had a few restoration skills and I think the other had a second copy of MoP.) T’was hysterical.

They had to justify the voltron-like action of the legendary greatswords, similiar so Rune of Trooper (once called Soldier) needed another profession that could use them so Rangers get shouts that aren’t quite shouts.

I like how shouts are generally described as something that affect an area, buffing allies or debuffing enemies, and also have an instant cast. While this is true for the soldier professions, none of the ranger shouts has an area affect that buff or debuff as a baseline (except revealed from Sic’ Em I guess..), and there is even a “shout” that isn’t an instant cast skill.
No wonder the class lacks team utility in pvp..
