I’ve been running a condition build I’m pretty happy with, but I really enjoy the mechanics and style of a power build. I mainly WvW, so condition+regen is far more effective than power/crit (at least for solo roaming).

I have enough laurels to equip myself in ascended (apothecary) trinkets to optimize the condition build. So, should I do it now or wait for the August (or even future) updates to see whether a power build is more viable for WvW? I don’t see how they can make ranger power= to a condition build, unless they change the power scaling.

I’m just curious whether anyone has a crystal ball to advise on whether to spend or save those laurels.

you have NO idea really what is coming. Always play the game of today, you can miss out on a lot of fun worrying about the future and what could or could not be.

Honestly, if you are having fun, buy the trinkets

I run a power build in WvW with all ascended trinkets, and believe me I would love to see the power scaling changed... but if you like what you’re running now then go ahead and get the trinkets to max it out.

im afraid to buy mine, since i just started, and only have like 30 laurels. I would think clerics trinkets for the bunker build is good, but im sure the zerker style ones are prob better in the long run…

I started out with a cond build but just got it into my head that I was gonna run power/prec/crit dmg. As such, all but one of my trinkets are zerker and the last is celestial. I am constantly playing with traits, armor, runes and weapons to find the right balance of tough/power/prec/crit. I am definitely building around the trinkets, because that’s what I had my head set on. If you just got your first 30 laurels, maybe just maybe wait til you complete your next monthly and see if you’re really set on your build before you go spend them all.

I just now got around to getting my full ascended for apothecary (just needed the trinkets which i finally just bought)

Next i’m buy is Celestrial I think

Personally I’m waiting for one more patch in hopes that there are a few more significant changes to the Ranger. I’m not overly in love with the build I currently run, but it works well in WvW so I run it anyways. I’m just hoping something else opens up that I like more before I go all in.
