Came back from a long break: Really confused.
Are there DPS builds that involve the druid spec?
Are there hybrid healing/dps builds that are VIABLE for higher end pve? if so, what are they?
Is full healing druid a good idea? why or why not?
Yes
I’m playing the druid, because I’ve gotten all classes to level 80 and the Ranger is my by far my favorite. I’m confused on what armor I should be getting or what I should be aiming to do in a party.
I hear druid healing is pretty average, especially considering Tempest is sort of god-tier atm.

Go with Zerker.
You’ll want to heal/have active regen as often as possible to recharge AF, and having strong healing, while useful once you reach CA, will actually slow down how long it takes to fill your bar. Lower heals from Zerker builds, in addition to your own DPS being stronger, will mean that there are more opportunities to charge AF since you/your allies might not always be topped off in terms of health.

What weapons should I use?
Honestly druid is a kitten good spec to add onto any build. Its utility is good regardless of whatever you were trying to do. Its actually a problem for some of us that have been trying to make builds WITHOUT druid in it. Druids just so kitten good that not taking it usually results in a build thats less up to the task. Or you feel like your gimping your team mates in some way. Be it in PvE WvW or PvP.
Its kind of depressing really. Everyone I know wants me to play druid. Issue is I DON’T want to play druid. But i kind of have to if im going to take part in anything.

To answer most of your questions:
~ Yes, there are viable DPS builds as a Druid. Berserker booster druid is one of the mathematically and practically most useful DPS assets of a raid composition. Period.
~ There’s no problem in adjusting some of the DPS stats or traits into more healing, comes to your raid demanding it. Hybrids are doable.
~ Full Healing druid is not a bad idea. It’s the best burst healing recovery support that still buffs the group with DPS boosts. It can be replaced but has a valid place in raids
~ A single Druid is a complete life-changer for higher fractals. Damage mitigation, DPS boosts and damage recovery they offer are beyond being useful.
Please, be aware that druids are useful if played correctly but they are not mandatory. There are classes that are capable of game-style that make druids not required. The main thing is they offer a viable solution to every single role possible. Condition, Berserker, Support → all of these are parts a druid can bring into “meta” level.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. So I’m thinking going beserker dps druid but not sure what weps I should be using. How’s LB/GS sound?

For raids this sounds about right.
Keep in mind that while it is the most ideal asset of the raid squad – it will often end up being requested for pure healing.
In reality, healing druid is not as required in skilled groups (where people know their mechanics and know how to avoid damage) but is one of the best ways how to carry a raid of inexperienced players. That being said – players might end up expecting you to carry them most of the time.
But if you intend to play a Berserker Booster druid – LB/GS sounds like one of the valid choices. If nothing else, it’s the safest choice since sword gives you the trouble of being rooted in attacks animations (it requires far more mechanical skill to avoid the fields).
At the beginning – you wouldn’t be able to go for pure efficiency so starting with what poses less threat might be a way to go.
I’ve been running my ranger as a DPS druid using LB/GS, the root on cc is lovely.
At the moment she’s mostly zerker, with soldier’s rings, might swap em for zerk again, especially if I take her to raids.
In pve, it’s been amazing, the amount of roots you have access to makes everything a breeze, plus the occasional burst heal as you need it from CA.
Marks/BM/Druid are the lines I run.

Could you post your build please? I’m just starting to play around with Druid and this seems interesting.
I’m trying out a condi/healer because of the lack of damage from the staff.
Being able to pour >1K of bleeds helps to make you feel better than doing nothing while healing the rest.
The staff does around 2/3 of the physical damage from the shortbow but you mostly need Staff to build up “quickly” the AF.
Scaling for healing in general is pretty bad. For example lunar impact with 0 healing heals around 2.5K. With 800 healing heals around 3.5K. And that skill is the highest coefficient for healing. Other traits/skills simply doesn’t scale.
1K healing difference for half of the points you can have in pure healing i think is bad.
