Can I keep my ranger?
You can be a ranger and do not have to progress to druid if you choose not to.
Are you asking if you will want to stay ranger? Wait and see with the rest of us ;-)

i think he is afraid that if he doesn’t change to druid people will not let him in party’s
As far as it goes, I played in the Beta and the only class that got a direct upgrade from going into an elite spec was Necro → Reaper. Guardian only got a small utility buff, mesmer player decently but about the same level of power as the base class, and ele is kinda lower powered by taking shouts and warhorn except in zerg situations.
if things follow the pattern, Druid will be a different playstyle, but not one that’s truly better than the base ranger.
The “Elite Specializations” are nothing more than a new additional trait line for your class. It’s just that these trait lines change how your class functions a bit more on a fundamental level by changing what your class mechanic does. To activate the elite spec, put it in one of your trait slots.
Basically, Your ranger will still be a ranger, the “Druid” part is actually just a new trait line that you can swap in and out of at your leisure.
As for what the Druid line does, I have no idea, it wasn’t released with the recent beta event, so nobody has tried it out.

Actually, Reaper was a bit underwhelming. The class I thought was killing it was the Ele. I made a Condition build ele wielding a staff and spec’d into fire and tempest and was literately killing mobs and players in seconds. I dare say it’s OP.
Maybe it’s based on perception, or maybe we just didn’t use builds that were very good for our choices; I was cleaning house with a reaper, but had a lot of trouble with the others.

Really? I saw some crazy good reapers over the weekend.
Um, Chronomancer is amazing. Ran it with shatter on the beta weekend for several hours. Don’t know why you would say it’s about the same. Not true.
