[Change Required] Pet Buff scale
Agreed. (again)
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Agreed. If pets are supposed to be a part of the Ranger, then all buffs to the Ranger should get transferred to the pet as a baseline (including super speed, stealth, banners and spirits). While we’re at it, all damage modifiers should apply to pet as baseline.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
This is the build i am currently using since the pre-HOT patch:
Among other things, it relies on boons. I can have a lots of boons with very high uptime (actually almost all of them outside resistance). "“Boons from pet are transferred to the other when you swap pets” looks like a simple proposal change, but it’s a huge change for a minor. An another ranger i faught in a duel asked me few days ago how i could have 26 sec of protection, i thought he was mistaken, but it can happens sometimes, Protective Ward + 4 th Lyssa runes + 6 th Lyssa runes and some dodges (my pet probably have even more with guard). Well, it’s anecdotal. The thing is is that with my build, that is not some weird one, i would be the king of boon sharing. You could use WH and immedialty reapplie the boons by swapping pet, it’s 36 sec of fury, swiftness and might without any boon duration. It would be broken, granting only stability to allies is already a game changer and if you put a CD on the trait, you couldn’t grant stab in a reliable way that much.

I’m not sure if you misunderstood, borya.
That trait would only prevent boon removing when swapping pets. Pets could still be killed and if you didn’t swap the pets – they would have the very same buffs as the ones transferred onto your next pet. No double-applying.
Even that would feel like a fix and not really a buff to the Ranger. Right now you can stack 25 might on your pet and feel like “I could use 3 sec quickness right now” – resulting in stripping all of them reducing your DPS that way (since full buffed Pet would trade 25 might for 3 from the Zephyr Speed trait).
You’re right, my bad here, i was mistaken. But even if i said it was broken, i kind of like my mistake, this new trait could definitly bring some support too to the party.

Haha, yea, would be lovely. But we all know that’s not gonna happen.
Another +1 from me and a bump because ranger deserves it.
Proposed Changes:
- Our pet is in unavoidable need of buffs and effects sharing from it’s master, food/stealth/boons included. Pets currently ruin any PvE skipping, make rangers hated in all environments and drag them down instead of promoting the unique side of the class.
I completely agree with this post…I just wanted to point out that there is a work around the PvE skips with Ranger. Keep an Endless Arid Devourer tonic and use it before the group gets stealthed. You turn into the Devourer and your pet goes away. Now, I don’t know if you take damage, if you will be knocked out of the tonic and if you can use it while you are in combat to go back into being a Devourer. I use a Cat Tonic I got through laurels with my Ranger and it allows me to turn back into a Cat form while running through a dungeon in combat. I suggested the Devourer one because it’s a few silver on the market and won’t break your bank to buy one for your Ranger…and someone here mentioned that it works like the Cat tonic. Wish more Rangers knew of this trick so we’d could lessen the Ranger stigmata a little.
Now if they’d give us your suggested work around, it would be way better!
Huh, I guess rangers are shapeshifters after all. We need to change form to make our class mechanic less of a liability.

It’s arguably worse than a comparable example from the Tools line for Engineers whereby the trait Adrenal Implants negates the minor trait Optimized Activation.
They should get rid of skipping altogether to solve part of the problem. In dungeons/fractals/etc mobs should hunt you for eternity, I hate people gaming the system trying to skip to bosses. It makes playing ranger or MM necro a liability and shunned from groups.
And pets and minions should definitely get all buffs the master gets by default, without stat scaling they are just going to keep falling further and further behind, getting buffs without leeching from another player would at least help a bit.

Why would you think Adrenal Implants negates the minor trait Optimized Activation? Endurance regeneration is not capped at 50%.

Well, they have stated that skipping is working as intended for a lot of areas. I suppose it is designed that way so stealth has a PvE purpose.
