Charr Ranger Armor
LGN
I really like the T3 shoulders/gloves/boots with Ascalonian Chest and HoTW mask, Rox’s Quiver too
I use the cultural armor mostly. Wrangler’s Coat looks good and doesn’t clip with the tail. Then I use Privateer’s Pants and Accursed Treads. That’s pretty much it for my outfit. I also sport a Mist Walker’s Cap but that makes the mane disappear so I usually go without a hat, and I don’t like how bulky the shoulder armor is on charr. Makes my guy look too big to be a fast moving ranger.
I tend to not be very flashy with my character outfits since I’m a roleplayer and my characters aren’t attention seekers.
My Charr Ranger has 2 armor sets.
One of them is T3 Cultural Gloves, Helm, Legs, Boots, Chest along with the Deathly Avian shoulders.
The other is the Viper armor set (gem store), minus the helmet because I don’t like the monacle.
I also rather like the Arah armor set, but I still haven’t really done dungeons so that one is kind of out at the moment.
Any chest pieces that take the tail into account are already ahead of the others in my book. Also most shoulders just float and it looks horribad, in the majority of the cases it’s best to turn shoulder armour off.
Glorious armour from the PvP reward track is actually very slick and a bodysuit basically so there’s no tail clipping. Arah armour has very good tail treatment, some of the culturals as well. Crafted Rascal armour is worth noting – tier 4 crafted armour skin, mainly the chest and shoulders in this set, one of the rare shoulders that don’t float, but only when combined with the Rascal chest. Ascended leather isn’t too bad either (minus the helm).
Some armours, but not all, work well with Inquest shoulders, since they’re also among the rare non-floating skins. If you want, take a look at the gem store skins, there’s good ones to be found there as well.
Overall, I suggest opening the wardrobe in your bank and playing dress up til you find something you really like. Just make sure to rotate your character in the preview window to make sure there’s not too much clipping.
Here’s mine, eye patch and hair style is the only thing from gem store. rest are in game forgot the names though lol.
I prefer a lean look, and I hate the trenchcoat/skirt thing that is forced on medium armor Charrs. I’ve only found two medium chestpieces that I like.
On my Ranger, I use Whisper’s Secret Longvest, Krytan Leggings, Inquest Boots, and optionally Krytan Armguards. I keep the helm, shoulders, and backpiece hidden. The skirt is thankfully short, and I like that a lot of fur is visible.
Note that there is clipping on the tail, but I mask it by making that part of the armor a similar color to the tail, so it’s not terribly noticeable if you aren’t looking for it.
On my Thief, I use Trapper Coat (Cultural Tier 3), Krytan Leggings, and Duelist Boots. I keep the helm, shoulders, gloves, and backpiece hidden. This is the one and only chestpiece I’ve found that doesn’t have any skirt component at all.
Already mentioned it earlier, PvP glorious armour doesnt have a “skirt”. Duelist, strider (gemstore) don’t have long “skirts” either.
Not having much artistic/creative skill, I always check:
to kickstart my characters’ gear.
This is my Charr so far. I still need to replace his gloves and his helmet, but pretty close to my planned finished product.
EDIT: Chest-Trapper
Shoulders-Mist Walker
Legs and Feet-Krytan
Here is mine. Mix of cultural, arah, krytan and hotw. Imo the jacket is one of the only jackets that look rangery and good on charr.
First look – hated
Second look – liked
Third look – boring
Fourth look – current and loved
I also think charr have serious armor issues in this game and it’s a shame cause they’re my favorite race. By some miracle I was able to find something that I like and I don’t think Anet will be releasing anything I think would look better for years judging by the percent of armor I think looks bad now.

I just finished leveling my fifth ranger, which is a charr (I now have one of every race).
I just used t3, except for the head (t2) and boots (t1).
I use the crafted set (emblazoned I think it’s called), ram’s lantern back, iron tailpipe bandana head and godskull weapon skins. Working on a new set too with different skins, but I haven’t finished it yet.

I like the sneak thief armor on my charr, minus the headpiece

Yeah I was initially going for sneakthief, but I don’t like the throwing stars on it. I’m toying with mixing up pieces of the carapace stuff now with a few other things. It looks surprisingly decent on charr (minus the head and shoulders). Once I finish the look I’ll post it up

This is my blind charr ranger, just t2 armor with Whispers shoulders

Here’s what I’ve put together, dyed for the Ash Legion with black and ash dyes.
Helmet: Stalker’s Visage
Shoulders: Rascal Shoulders
Chest: Rascal Coat
Gloves: Drover Gloves
Legs: Verata’s Leggings
Boots: Verata’s Striders
Back: Rox’s Quiver
Weapon: Legionnaire Shortbow
Didn’t transmute the legs/boots because you can hardly see them through the coat and I got lazy after I did my ascended set.
