I am starting to play again so that means more videos are coming soon! This is a Power/Regen build I created and it works pretty well for me. This is a dueling video, hope you guys enjoy!!

Just trying something new I guess. Getting final cut pro and going to be doing more effects!

I think you should take vids of dueling good players.

Good videos are not determinted by having many effects.
And videos about 1on1s are pretty bad to show off how good the build actually is.

I disagree. I have many hours of nothing but duels under my belt and because of that, I have increased my skill level against 1vs2 and 1vs3 situations. I have every class mechanic down due to duels. When I’m going 1vs2 in a Tournament and trying to take a node, I know when to back off and go elsewhere. I know my characters capabilities and other class capabilities due to duels. I can’t tell you how many times I have been challenged by a WvW zerger to a duel. 90% of the time they lose. There character skill level is below par. They have this ‘zerg’ mentality. When they are out in the open all by themselves, air to there back and nothing but hand/eye coordination they crack under the pressure.

As for Chronix and his video, he’s an excellent player. The opponents in the video I have no idea of there skill level.

And now I was running something different. I never run the same build always building up new ones and testing them.

Till date I have used my ranger for PvE and dungeons, but I realize, dungeons just isn’t its forte.

For a while I’ve been running a 0/25/20/25/0 build using the GS and SB. Could you possibly construct a decent GS/SB build that could do well in WvW and adapt to Fractals when needed?

Not many dodges by opponents, many standing still for awhile, or using improper builds for example the condition build (necromancer), who is not stacking enough conditions, along with opponents very few defensive abilities.

About the only thing in the video I liked was when you fought the other Ranger, and took his pet out of the equation for quite awhile. This is something I do on all my classes, and something I constantly try to get others to do.

You totally missed the point of my post.

Try one of these builds in WvW. I’m curious what you can do with it.

Gear is;

Armor – “Vatlaaw’s” (Precision, Toughness, Condition Damage) all but Chest, which is actually the WvW/PvP piece giving (Power, Vitality, Toughness).
Jewelry – “Amulet of the Skies”, “Cirque of Arah”, “Big Mama’s Tooth” all slotted with the Mighty Infusion. You can use Exotics Knights Jewelry until you get your Ascended. (Power, Precision, Toughness)
Weapons – “Carrion” (Power, Vitality, ConDam)
Use Superior Rune of Undead to raise your Condition Damage, making good use of the high Toughness

Carry an extra set of melee/dual weapons, both slotted with Superior Sigil of Bloodlust, so that every kill gives you “two” stacks. This allows you to kill only 13 mobs, or if you’re lazy, only kill five creatures.

Then switch back to your fighting weapons. Shortbow + melee weapon(s) of choice.

You’ll have roughly 45% or better critical hit, so use Omnom Pie for the healing power. Even after the nerf, it is still decent. This crit chance also opens up a large variety of Sigils, your choice. If you are worried about conditions, slot Superior Sigil of Generosity, and Superior Sigil of Purity on dual melee weapons. High Toughness, with a greater condition removal makes for a solid bunker spec.

30 Wilderness Survival ( III, VII, XI )
10 Nature Magic ( VI )
30 Beastmastery ( I, VII, XII )

This is an anti-Thief spec because in WvW, they can hit very hard, so when you see a Thief up ahead, switch a trait on the fly. (You can drag your persona window to the far left so it exposes only the last set of traits.) XI in WS to XII in WS, which works great with VI in NM. If you don’t have time to switch, no worries, you still have VI in NM to help keep you from being spiked out.

Make sure to use the Sharpening Stone consumable as your second consumable.

The other build you can try in larger WvW fights is;

20 Marksmanship ( III, VIII )
10 Skirmishing ( II )
30 Wilderness Survival ( VI, VIII, XII )
10 Nature Magic ( VI )
