attacking glass cannons from behind doesn’t really count for anything.

Well, since I haven’t watched any of your PvP videos, I can’t really comment on the difference in skill levels. However, I feel like making a glass cannon run away from you instead of waiting for the res timer to hit zero definitely counts for something.

As my hundred blade warrior would always tell me when i stomp him on my mesmer (his build counters my ranger so hard with his immobs and stuns it’s freaking stupid…), “It’s not retreating… it’s advancing in the opposite direction!”

My only question is why are you using sword on auto attack? it can be used a lot better with it off because you can control when you use your leaps, which you can use twice consecutively, allowing you to gain EXTREMELY large amounts of distance between you and the enemy should you so choose… and it also doesn’t “root you in place” as many people complain about with the sword…

other then that way to stomp people like a BOSS! it always does my heart good to see another ranger out there pub stomping people…

Good fighting dude, but you should swap out your pets more often. Don’t let them die like that, especially while you’re doing a bunch of auto attacks. You have a free hand… just move that mouse over and swap them out at low health. Those 60 second respawn times will come back to bite you, even if you aren’t pet specced.

Against a warrior who near literally only used auto attack…
And almost died to boot, correction, would have died if the warrior timed his downed state knockdown better…

Seriously though, use quickening zephyr on pet swap, birds and/or canines, empathetic bond and troll ungent…. so much more potential… its actually a solid spec then.

Playing your pet well is far from it…

Pets are one of our biggest sources of burst and pet damage synergizes very well with a 1h sword since the 1 attack grants might to pet. RaO → 1 spam → F2 on raven → swap pet → F2 on other bird for example will give bigger burst than what you can do with a weapon alone.

Hmm, maybe we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I mean, if you take a bird for example, you’re getting a 22% increase in power and 15% increase in precision from the 300 stat point increase alone (along of course with the increase to their defensive stats). And that’s on top of having something like Commanding Voice and Mighty Swap to increase their damage even further.

Now, if I was running a bow build, I don’t think I’d put in the investment into BM since you don’t need as much defense with a ranged weapon and also because there are so many good traits for increasing bow damage in Marks/Skirm, but with a melee build, it’s hard to pass this up.
