Compound Bow Needed for Rangers

I am not talking about a skin. I am talking about a compound bow that has a mechanic that is different to pierce and throw farther.

Skins aren’t remotely what I was talking about – I love my Longbow but it isn’t a compound bow.
ANet has already stated it’s impossible because it would break certain zones and events. Also since they’re not going to change the game to fix our broken class mechanic, I don’t think they’re going to change it for 2/5 of our weapons.
As stated it work break the game. Even now long bow can hit targets at 1800 ( 1500 with trait and beyond that you have to manually attack hitting targets at 1800)at that range even while mobs are taking damage they are consider out of combat and have high regen or be in combat but wont respond to they attack at all.
As far as being the loner its more of a playstlye issue. My friend always want me to play my ranger. I save the party from a wipe on may occasion. Also being able to out range some of the more deadlier mobs is a good thing.
The only way I would be in favor of a new bow would be if it was designed to do more aoe damage kind of like the thieves bow. With that said I wouldn’t want to give either of the bows we have now. We already have access to the third most weapons so I’m not holding my breath.

It would be nice if they extended the LB (or had a compound bow) that extended the range past 1500.
I understand Anet’s thoughts on it that it would break the game.. that’s fine, just don’t allow that range in PvE, just increase the range in WvW instead.
I think it’s time that other classes in WvW should have to deal with a broken OP mechanic in the Ranger’s kitten nal, rather than us having to deal with theirs.
I’d be more than happy to let the thieves stealth go, or the Warriors ability to out Dps with a rifle, if we actually had the ability to nail people from 2500 range.

no, asking to be OP just because they got to be OP isnt acceptable.
dont just work to make yourself better, work to make the game around you better.
I think we are all fans of new and interesting weapons, with special places in our hearts for bows, but >1500 range is not going to be good for the community.
How bout fairly short ranged bows that are incredibly effective in that space in terms of survivability? That way running double bows could be something viable.

You can technically hit enemies at 1800 range using the longbow. While you are hitting them, start to move backwards while still hitting them, after a few seconds, you are already outside their aggro bubble, the enemy health regenerates, and they go back to their position.
If We had a weapon that could hit enemies at, say, 2100 range, it would never aggro the enemy. They would just stand there, looking at you like your stupid, while saying “Ha, ha, Ha! I have infinite health, kitten!” . And during events, if you were way outside the Champion’s range, his health would start regenerating, even if other players were attacking it, because he wants you for lunch, not someone else! That’s what is game breaking about the mechanic. Its not that you can’t hit something that far away, Siege in WvW can do that just fine.
