while everyone was concerned about the drake-looking thing on the right I am wondering what that thing to the left of it is.
looks like a giant plant-hand but doesn’t seem to align with the left arm perfectly.

It’s the other green frilly part of the staff she’s holding. Look at the top of it and then at the bottom where you drew the red lines.

I’m sorry to tell you. But it seems she has a thing called hair.

Part of what you’ve marked is her hair – its the leafy ‘pony-tail’ hairstyle available in game now (first attached image). The rest of it is roots on the back of the Oakheart behind her. Check the second attached image to see what I mean.
