Condi Gear Apothecary vs Dire
I don’t have ascended yet but I use exotic Dire armor/weapons and exotic Apothecary trinkets and they work quite well. It offers a good amount of flexibility since WS, NM and Beast all benefit from the mixed stats. I’ve even tried points in Skirmishing for better traps and it worked pretty fair, though the precision is just wasted.

i’d suggest Rabid + Apoth trinkets. Reason is that such a set will be universally strong for BM, pure condi bunker and trapper builds. While it lowers your bunkering ability slightly, it also increases your DPS.

it should offer a good balance between pet burst (from might stacking). Direct DPS (from crits and high attack rate) and bleed + burn spam.
Pure Apoth will unfortunately shoehorn you into a defensive role, while rabid + apoth allows you to apply pressure while having the option to fall back when needed.

Full Dire also has the added benefit of it being quite strong for Engineer and Thief should you decide to run an alt.

I have a few different condition sets but I’d highly recommend a mixture of Apothecary and Rabid. Good survivability and good damage.
A lot of people use Apothecary trinkets and Rabid or Dire armor but I personally like to do the opposite. Apothecary armor, weapons and trinkets Rabid with Dwayna runes. Since Dwayna runes proc Regeneration when using a heal that means when you use Troll Unguent you also get Regeneration, which means about 1.3k regen per second. Lots of toughness, lots of regeneration, more than enough condition damage to be a threat so I personally enjoy this set up a lot. It also depends on how you fare in fights though I guess. I’d just say steer clear of ever going full Rabid unless you’re really confident in your ability.

@ Prysin thanks for you suggestion i didn’t know that combo existed, but i agree Atherakhia my celestial gear to an extend fills the roll of Apoth+Rabid so i can always mix my full bunker get with celestial.
@Atherakhia why Dire is because of the extra Condi damage or the Vitality? for me Vitality is a limited life span with more vitality come more life span (and ability to take bursts) where as healing power increases your ability to recover lost health making it a battle of attrition. if only there was Condi/Tough/Heal with condi as the primary spec.
While i have a full set of Alts I’m quite happy to keep them in exotics as i don’t really play them except to learn how they work.
I have been using my Celestial gear in bunker/BM trait setup for quite some time now, I’m quite comfortable with it and it work well for me. I’m looking to go full bunker with my gear for some thing different, this is something that i will work towards slowly (except trinkets) and my not even use that much but more of a change of pace. there is a fair chance that full rabid trinkets will be the next lot of trinkets I’ll will get.

I find the damage is significantly greater with bleeds on crit than dire alone.
