Looks strong damage wise, but your only on demand condi clear is healing spring. How does this fare against all of the plague signet necros out there now?

I wonder if it makes more sense to trade vipers nest or SoS for a survival skill and then swap EB for WS?

It’s a touchy matchup. You have to play consciously.

Obstructed will defeat plague signet/dagger 4
You can bait the auto transfer with trash condis like chill/weakness/cripple.
Burst only if you are standing in your healing spring.
If you apply a lot of condis to him it is reasonable to assume he will transfer them back to you so burst into rng dodge spam.
Bait his transfer into your empathic bond tick.
He has only the auto transfer in death shroud.

If you get under 50% for too long just run as the necro traits make the necro too dangerous to fight at that point. (2 might per 1s/spinal shivers etc).
You will likely need to drop point to avoid dagger auto spam but can still win the fight.

My method of fighting varies depending upon the map. For example on forest I can drop traps and then run behind a pillar so he cannot transfer but on khylo I must play a slow technical fight. Because off this I can’t describe a set rotation or plan but can only provide a set of information and tips I use to direct my next move.

I have lost to necros but I have also beat opn/noscoc/others enough to say it isn’t a hard counter, but more a touchy matchup.

I cannot drop vipers nest (9 stacks of poison/16s cd) as this is one of the key skills needed to shove bunkers like d/d eles and shoutbows off the point. If you need the extra condi clear I would recommend swapping the Beastmastery line for Nature Magic to take Evasive Purity for the extra clear. Even though that trait only clears one damaging condition it will clear out a lot of junk condis which cover the high damage conditions.

I don’t have any cele necro friends online but will try to record about 30 min of duels unedited with some commentary when I have the chance.

Interesting.

I’ve been playing with Settler’s and Balthazar Runes myself, with dual canines and I’ve unfortunately been using Wilderness Knowledge with Troll Unguent, Flame Trap, Viper’s Nest, and Lightning Reflexes, with of course Entangle as the elite.

I absolutely think that Healing Spring is the more viable heal and would probably run the build with Poison Master in the most optimal situation, but until they fix Healing Spring not healing the pet, I have a really hard time enjoying having it slotted on my bar.

Besides that I’ve also been opting to go for Nature Magic over Beastmastery. I love the new BM to death, but I’ve been finding that I just don’t need the taunt on the the build and prefer picking up the extra cleansing capability from Evasive Purity and really enjoy the extra weakness condition and protection.

I think that in the long run, the Carrion/Scavenger combination will be the go to preferred combination, but with the classes being the way they are right now, I have been preferring to just counterbuild defensively against all of the high damage classes as opposed to building the higher damaging route.

Seeing as how my build is basically listed in your alternatives though, I probably didn’t really need to make this post (other than to give the thread visibility).

I run settlers and balth runes with triple traps and hs. I find using axe/dagger in this meta is asking to die, so Ive been running with sb for range and damage or gs for utility and mobility.

The traps and torch with balth give more than enough damage, double birds have great burst too and force your enemy into eating traps. You dont really need the damage from axe 2 and wilting strike gives you plenty of weakness uptime with hawk and eagle. I cant decide between double burn duration sigils or hydromancy to go with the geo tho.

You may worry about avoidable damage with relying on traps, but keep in mind that aside from you bending over, enemies have no way of seeing them, birds will force people into them, and you are playing in spvp on points so they have to step on them for the most part or they lose the point. With more defensive quickdraw evade spamming weapons such as sword sb or gs, its pretty hard for one person alone to kill you, but I find with axe mh im auto dead as dagger 4 sucks now
