Condition ranger sb help
If you can positioning well yourself behinde the boss while on shortbow it improve your DPS by a lot.
Axe/Torch/Dagger or axe/Torch/Torch or even axe/Torch/axe (on condi druid to help with pulls) still give decent dps.
So if, for some reason, you can’t hit your enemy from behinde or while doing it your are losing chrono’s wells, and you get low quickness, alacrity and GotL then you can think about drop shortbow to go double offhand.
Or you can try to improve your self positioning and keep it.
Sword instead, is just not viable as source of DPS on a condi build.
condi trapper’s main damage weapon set is axe/torch (with traps) and that’s all you really need. axe AA builds up might, so switching weapons isn’t mandatory.
some like me use the sb mainly for the swiftness boon when running around. although in pvp, the sb is great, as is the condi trapper overall.
First of all. Don’t use dagger and sword together. Sword is a power weapon, dagger is a condi.
Take warhorn/axe in offhand if you run power build.
Even if you can’t position yourself correctly(can’t flank) shortbow deals more damage than dagger. You just have to use quickdrow correctly.
Start with sb, press 2 and swap to axe/torch. Do a/t rotation, swap back, and press 2(DON’T use another SB skills(except auto) while quickdrow is active, you will waste it. ). after 2 press 4 and do auto unless 2 will recharge(~2.6 sec). Then swap weapon when you can and repeat.
This rotation+utility skills allow you to deal really extreme damage(~34k with realistic buffs).
Try this, s/d is for dodging/ re-positioning to keep bleed pressure up with sb.
For WvW, my Condi roaming build is SB/SW+D..
Sword/Dagger is mainly to evade while traps and SB skills are on CD. With quickdraw though, it applies about 8 more stacks of poison while you evade away.
I would run full trailblazer if I actually had it but for now, I run dire armor, rapid trinkets and giver weapons.
