Kudos to Pendleton.6385 whose PMs to me got me thinking about this.

Apothecary gear can be expensive to get since you need 30 karka shells per piece of armor and per weapon and the passion flowers are quite expensive. The fact that karka are a little tougher than average NPCs their level, it can make the farm annoying for some.

Because of this, I was thinking, if you’re interested in farming Karka Shells for your apothecary gear, make a post on here with your server and whether it is US or Euro. I’ll keep a list of people from both and then people can whisper each other to see if any on the list are currently farming karka. Then you can simply agree to guest on a server and farm them together.

Now why would we do this? Because loot is not split when you group, so there’s no penalty to grouping, and with a group you kill faster. No penalty/split + faster kills = faster farm. You can even get together on teamspeak/ventrilo/etc. and it makes it much more fun to “shoot the breeze” while you farm. I’ve made a couple buds just from doing this with others on Ehmry Bay … several Rangers actually.

Also, feel free to use this thread to coordinate specific dates/times for farming as well. Let’s help the Ranger community get one of the best sets of gear for our class without breaking the bank.

I guess none of the new rangers are interested in apothecary gear or farming it?

Even if you aren’t level 80 yet, feel free to put your [name] + [server] + [US or Euro]. You’ll eventually hit 80 and if you are wanting to farm karka shells with others, there’s nothing better than a group of rangers for farming (we own open world after all )

Farming karkas is good for getting apothecary gear as well as for just making money since its the only zone to get them and the only way to get apothecary armor/weapons.

There we go, a euro (and now a rhyme).

Honestly I’m not sure what the Guardian would bring. Reflection is nice, but when you have a farming group for Karka, 3+ people makes them die so quickly that you aren’t really getting hit.

That being said, I don’t care what people farm on. I’m just trying to provide a means for people to better get what they need.

Would help with Might stacking and easier for me in general :P

Not needed with 3+, but I’m sure it helps :-) It isn’t some raid.

The important things are

• Fast movespeed
• Tagging karkas quickly (before the group rolls it).
  • Long range
  • Fast attacks/projectiles
  • Direct damage

Ehmry Bay often has pick-up karka farming groups during the weekdays. Sometimes people even drop magic find banners and foods for everyone to use.

I’m not really looking for an apothecary set (atm anyways) but I looooooove killing Karka!
