Have around 60 obsidian shards and 20k karma, another gift of exploration, and gift of battle sitting in storage.

Any suggestions? Which legendaries have the best mix of practical use/aesthetic quality for a female ranger?

Probably Sword.
It’s the best single target hitting weapon and it’s aesthetic for females too. It looks awesome on a female to jump around hitting stuff hard.

He probably meant Bolt.

I enjoy my Howler a lot, it’s always useful in PvE. The mist aura and howling noises are the best.

It really depends on which weapons you usually use.

I would get a Greatsword because I use it the most by far.

Howler is pretty cheap, and is useful in every single aspect of the game (WvW, dungeons, fractals, openworld, PvP… um, personal story?) It annoys the hell out of me with the repetitive noise, but you can stop it by autoattacking the air once. And it’s quite nice looking. Might be the best looking Legendary IMO.

What activity do you spend most of your time on(dungeons/fractals, WvW, PvP)?

Do you care about running the best possible build or would just like to look good in doing stuff?

Well, I’d say sword just because sword can be used in a variety of builds and isn’t limited to being a “power only” option. Also, it is the preferred weaponset in dungeons, which is another huge bonus.

I’d say it’s worthwhile for every ranger to learn how to use sword, and the awesomeness of Bolt just adds icing to the cake.
