10 in BM instead of NM is for pet F2 cooldown reduce.
Keep in mind that skull itself has ICD!

Hate to burst your bubble, fear caps at 5 seconds.
Fear does not cap at 5 seconds. I’ve done 9 in pvp. Too finicky to be viable. It works sometimes, but people QUICKLY learn what is fearing them.
Huh just tested it when Rennoko, on necro, with 4 different fear sources, only ever hit 5 seconds.
Not on ranger skull fear though. I heard necro caps for some reason. The skull dear doesn’t.

That’s pretty lame for necro’s if it caps at 5 for them, but not rangers.
So it’s a bug? Again gonna be corrected, rangers can’t be utile, dev of Anet have a memo for that

It overcomes the cap. Proved with Mkkoll, in spvp, 12-13 seconds aoe fear.

Also, Sigil doesn’t affect Fear. But Giver’s Weapons do. I just got reported by a random thief after he was CCd for 25 seconds in row

There’s no cap to fear, there’s a cap on how many times you can STACK fear, the ranger fear is ridiculously long by default, there’s no stacking really going on.

So did some testing. You were right, it does go up to 9 seconds.
Was with a necromancer and the results were a little weird. Sometimes the fear showed going over 10 seconds when he added his fear and other times once my fear from the skull wore off, his fear popped back up and had it’s duration still.
Going to do a little more testing tonight. Wondering if when the skull fear is cleared with a stun-break, the necro’s fear would pop up once it goes away.

Wonder why the original post got deleted here…. we were playing with this last night and it was quite hilarious. You can epidemic the pig-dug-skull fear for a 20 second AOE fear, which DOES proc terror from the necromancer.
Its pretty janky in the sense that you need people without stun breaks or stability, in close proximity, the pig skill needs to work and roll the 33% RNG for the skull, and then the ranger has to land the fear without being stunned/blinded etc.
It is a different fear than the thief skull fear, which is 3 seconds at any range. The pig skull fear is like the warrior fear in that it is longer the closer you are. The strange part was I could take like a 15 second fear, and throw an extra 3 seconds on it with my necro fear and it had no problems stacking, even though fear hard prevents stacks over 5 seconds on all necro fears.
It just seems like this skill (a normally PVE only skill) just never got fixed when they fixed all the other durations to max out at 100%, and it certainly missed the max 5 second fear duration treatment that warrior fears, thief fears, and necro fears got.
It is the boar f2. You get that, bone, and rock if I’m right.

Seeing as how I can do +140% in sPvP from the traits and runes alone I’m gonna say you have no idea what you’re talking about

150% in spvp. (30 MM, Runes of Necromancer). I’ve deleted the original post to simply prevent it from bumping up. We’re testing something similar in guild in tpvp now, with pretty good success. Add to it, if you have 2 necros with epidemic, final target of two spreads can get 30 sec fear.
Now all Rangers would be glad if we stop posting there so we can actually enjoy it for longer time than Eagle Eye buff
@Dardamaniac – If I were to troll so hard, I’d invite our tPvP, One above All, The Master, guru Sensotix and make him to run around in fear for 30 seconds when I’d be /laughing. Ohh, he’d make so sad state of game thread, tears would fall like rain above Amazonia and QQ would be so hard that Sun would raise at night to see what’s going on
