i never played a ranger before but reason tells me that ranger is the best class for pve solo play
am i correct?

One of the best, yea. Either power or condi both do great dps in PVE (I don’t PVP) and you bring the buffs as well so many want you along.
Solo its not so lonely as other classes as you have your trusty pets and can find more along the way!
So yea, jump in, give it a go and have fun.

Pve, fractals, dungeons: Pretty good and you are desireable by groups.

WvW Zerg: Who doesn’t want a powerfull healer?! xD

WvW Roaming: Strong in both condition and power builds if you know what you doing and your limitations.

PvP: Also strong, specially if you are experienced with team support and can hold your own in 1vX, in case you have to hold home or decap/stale on far.

Not absolutely sure if it’s the best pve solo class, but definitely top 3.

As Support/Buffs? Great! As always; as full DPS? Condi/Pwr is viable but still many expect Druid/staff and support/heals/buffs. It depends. I don’t think as some that Ranger DPS is meh, it’s not. You can be good DPS both pwr and condi! And keep in mind updates soon metas can change by next week.

We seem to be in an ok position in PvP. Not bad, not 100% ideal.

We were stronger, MUCH stronger in past seasons.

Personally I think the CC in game has gotten to be over the top.

Don’t know what y’all are talking about… Power melee ranger/druid is crap in PVE. DPS nerf from sword animation killed what little was left. I’d only call power ranger/druid viable in pve in the sense that viable means you’ll eventually kill it, but you ain’t doing it any way that would be considered “fast”. Maybe burning ranger is still good, but I don’t play condi builds except on ele and engie.

Sure, you’re wanted in Raids but it’s 100% for the healing from my experience, nothing more.

Healing & damage mods.
It depends on how you gear yourself. I am personally in full Zealots. So I do great in open-world PvE as well as raids.

If you’re playing as Druid you have a home in pretty much every group as support. If you’re going for damage I’d honestly drop Druid unless you absolutely need one since Druid just hampers DPS.

All in all though ranger/Druid is in a very good spot in all game modes last I checked
