Daze/Decap Druid Build Guide + Game Play
Pretty standard build. If I see a druid – he’s playing this one.
About the Burst – well, any druid has that burst. It’s about Pets. They do the magic even without beast-mastery. I dare to say I had much better burst on a Settler Poison build.
Plus, it’s a spike, not a burst. Burst is a 1 moment thing, spike is a high increase in DPS for a short amount of time. And a burst that needs to be pre-cast and maintained for a period of 5 seconds… That’s no burst. It just looks like one.
And yes, that’s pretty much it. The build is kind of meta. More meta than the one on meta-battle actually. No real feedback required, this is basically one of the most effective builds on Ranger, currently.

Still see a few cele druid metabattle druids out there with the condi signet and Sword/Torch. The burst is indeed over a period of time and needs to be precasted and maintained but thats where the dazes and stuns come into play and you can stop them from doing anything and eat the burst once their dodges are down. If they have stability up the build doesn’t do a whole lot anyway but sustain and hold the point with the Staff 5 water field and leap/blast you can heal up a fair bit. The build isn’t on metabattle yet really and wanted to make a video of it but yeah it is a very strong ranger build at the moment. Anyway, thanks for the comment.
Metabattle is 3/4 year behind in efficiency (at least when it comes to the Ranger).
Don’t really take that site seriously. Whoever checked the build posted there even with the alternatives mentioned has to realize the site lacks a lot. It’s amazing when you have no idea of the class but if you do – the site won’t help at all.
The build you are playing right now is what I see 24/7. Thankfully there’s quite a few of our Ranger fellows who had the same amazing idea as you did.
I actually prefer Crusader Amulet if I run GS. Cele definitely gets run with either LB or Sword/Torch for me as well.
Metabattles build is actually pretty spot on for what Druids have been running on the EU servers. Not that it makes it the most efficient build, but compared to the grand total of 0 players running Druid at an even remotely observable level on NA, it makes sense that the most observed build on the site is the one that the site admins and contributers see the most.
But yeah, I tried to make the cele version of the build work for me over and over and I found it spread too thin compared to specializing it with the Crusaders version.
MM 332, BM 322, Druid 123. Energy/Leech on staff, Intel/Hydro on GS, Smokescale, Bristleback, WHaO, Tides, Equality, SoS, SotP.

Cele with Staff AND GS is kitten, imo. No pressure, only by your pet and if somebody knows how to avoid that you’re not gonna kill anything.
IMO crusader or soldiers with remorseless are better for this. With cele I would want staff LB or torch with lyssa rune, entangle, sharpened edges, and quickdraw. (I think I just repeated jcbroe’s post.)
I’ve been playing around with the build, its not bad. The downside is that you’re easily condi bombed. Going into astral form is the only way for a quick clear, the glyph ones have a lag period and requires you to stand inside its aoe.
I switched out the runes a bit though. MoC is doubling the fear duration on sunless, or stun duration if you’re going with surging. Could probably also use trooper runes for extra condi clears.
I agree, I don’t really understand the absolute devotion everyone has to durability runes. I think there are a lot of other excellent choices.

Rune of Revenant, for example.
Opinions are like kittens
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Surging for example, is a very neat rune for MoC + Ancient Seeds Builds.
Thanks for doing that – not my cup of tea. But you put time and effort into it, and for that I commend you.

Thanks, respect.

You can deal with condi reaper very easily as they have constant application of very few conditions, condi revenant with all the boon conversion and million conditions is a bit harder but you usually lose to them in a 1v1 if you don’t have astral up. Trooper works nicely but durability is like the pack rune of tanking, gives a lot of defensive stats

I’m struggling with Reaper condis. In teamfights I usually get loaded with condis due to Corrupt Boon and Plague Signet. And if there are two Necros, gg.
