I understand that this is an hard period for Rangers, but this bug is extremely annoying.
Seeing every time -the most often under water- the dead pet ressing his master is a really boring thing.
Even by re killing the pet, the Ranger gets huge healings. It’s impossible to burst him down.
Hope Anet will take care of this bug.

Revive your pet at your location to revive you.

(Emphasis mine.) So it is not a dead pet. Even if the pet was dead, activating the skill will revive it. You need to kill the pet first, then finish off the ranger before the 20 second cooldown on the skill (at which point the ranger can revive the pet again).

The other bug you’re running into is that the skill is overly-effective underwater, and the pet keeps reviving despite being killed. That’s been widely known and reported as a bug here since early in the year. I suppose it’ll be fixed eventually, but don’t hold your breath.

You’re also benefiting from a bug in the skill without realizing it – it frequently doesn’t work on uneven terrain. The pet will stand above the ranger and do nothing. To an opponent it’ll look like you managed to burst down the ranger despite the pet healing him. To the ranger it’s a very frustrating bug where you’re killed when you shouldn’t be because one of your downed skills (arguably the only ranger downed skill worth a kitten ) didn’t work.

hehe I must tell You – after end of effect, You would use to achieve that pet if survives it would just run bakc nad continue to rezzing – only way to make him stop is kill him once again

PS. I had no problem lastly in WvW with bursting down enemy colonel ranger with my bunker ranger with lvl 77 “blue” speargun :P
(actually I downed him twice and in that second time he died before he could use lick wounds

finish a ranger under water with two jellyfish and unlimited aeo blinds.. go ahead try. I’ve survived a 12 v 1 under water battle and still managed to kill people before they got me Yeah it’s op… Deal with it it’s all we got.

You prevent this by CCing the ranger, not the pet. You count to twenty after downing the ranger, and then interrupt their cast. Boom, they’ll be dead before they can get it off again.

Of course, that takes the tiniest modicum of effort and awareness, so 90% of you will never be able to do it, and continue to whine =(

Atm I am able to read(!) and I knew it ressed the pet, and i know too that i had to re-kill the pet. I did whatever was needed to kill the pet/ interrupting the ranger.
Didn’t expect the bug was yet reported.
To everyone: I understand it’s an hard period for Rangers, so keep your mood safe and clean, no need to be acid and unpleasant. This is not a whine.
