Hi, guys! Would you please give me some suggestions on how to take on deadeye with 5 gambits? I was thinking of going for trap ranger build with carrion armor and rabid weps/trinkets.

I haven’t tried the 5 gambits one, but you’re not allowed to dodge, right?

I did do it with 3 gambits and canine pets are really good because of the knockdowns. Hyena(double knockdowns) and Wolf(fear) would be the best of course. So that might be key to keep him from moving and to interrupt his charged shot.

I suppose sword+dagger for the evades is a must. Maybe Lightning Reflexes, Signet of Stone and Protect Me as well. You could probably get away with using other weapons if you can interrupt him enough without those evades.

I did the 3 gambits with Settlers gear and axe+torch, but I could dodge.

I’m consistantly killing him with 4 gambits using zerker gear and a 30/20/20 build. I take spotter, the grandmaster signet trait, offhand training and anything that adds damage. For skills I use QZ, signet of the wild, and signet of stone. Weapon is sword with warhorn and axe offhands. Pets are jaguar and stalker.

My strategy is to prebuff with warhorn, RaO, and the stalker’s mighty roar. Then I talk to the ringmaster. As soon as I get in, I target deadeye and use path of scars, which interrupts the early killshot and brings him to me. Then I hit whirling defense. If I’m lucky, I’ll reflect a volley back on him. When that’s done, I pop QZ and signet of the wild and attack for all I’m worth. Save signet of stone for when he uses a kill shot that you can’t interrupt. If he teleports on you, use path of scars to pull him in again. Serpent’s strike is usually my last resort for evading killshot because of all the bombs. Also, if you can get your pet between you and deadeye, that helps a lot.

I can get him easily with 4 gambits using this method. 5 gambits might require an external source of might and a stacking sigil to help counter squeamish. Greatsword would probably be more useful than warhorn, but I haven’t tested with it yet.

I go full zerk everything, but I don’t use frailty so I can’t say.
Sword/axe/gs, scholar runes, jaguar/jungle stalker 30-30-10-0-0 Troll Ungent, SoTW, SoS, QZ and Take Root (cultural, I guess you can use RaO or something)
Pop troll unguent right before you go in, start with jungle stalker, Path of Scars from where yo ustand at him to the axe 5, switch to GS and spam stuff till he ports, use Swoop then swap back to sword/axe, swap to jaguar, pop SoTW and QZ. SoS and Take Root I use as precautions.

The following worked for me:

Take every gambit but the quaggan

Sword/axe with zerk, shortbow on secondary

30/10/0/0/30 — beastcannon build variant with grandmaster quickening zephyr and signet of the beastmaster in marks

Quickening zephyr / signet of stone / frost trap / troll unguent / RaO /

Snow owl and raven

0) Start with RaO before you port into the arena

1) Pull with path of scars to enter combat—don’t move around because mines

2) Whirl if you are gutsy—you might have to dodge his big attack with serpent’s steike instead— your call

3) frost trap / swap pets often for more quickness / sword thrashing

3) Use signet of stone a little into the battle to prevent death

4) keep him blinded/chilled with our burst pets, which are birds

5) When he teleports, pull him back or switch to shortbow or continue bursting with sword, depending on the geometry and terrain

Good luck!
