Dear Mark Katzbach & Ranger balance
I don’t really understand how the ANet devs are so prone to undertuning or overtuning things. There’s a very obvious middle ground, and somehow that middle ground is always flown over by a few kilometers.

What was before, was Overkill because every body could buff ranger and ranger would only copy.
What do we have now is, ally can over buff ranger, and Heal As One, will have no effect at all.
In order to achieve meaning of this skill, we need to understand one few things:
1) ranger is pet owner, and he MUST care for his/her pet share is care
2) Prevent sharing boons that were applied from other people.
3) Share only self created boons between ranger and pet.
4) Share only 66% of durations or if you have might, share full duration and only 66% of might stacks.
5) Enjoy balanced class, with appropriate amount of boons, and with overflow and health balance was born.
…Appropriate balance:
*RANGER AND PET COPY TO EACH OTHER ONLY SELF PROVIDED OWN BUFFS AND NOT THOSE APPLIED BY ALLIES…
Because that would be a nightmare to code and then the game would have to keep track of every single boon application, that would require a lot of resources. No thanks.

Fairly certain it’s because none of the devs actually play the game and dont exactly listen to the community unless there is some sort of public outcry. D/D eles were OP in pvp for the longest time but not many complained because they enjoyed demolishing everyone through button mashing. But when ranger gets a half decent buff (the class which is essentially seen as the crappiest profession by the community and basically a laughing stock) everyone gets annoyed because they can’t laugh at the profession anymore. Things have gotten better compared to the past where if you were a ranger you would be instantly kicked from a dungeon but it still isnt very good.
If the devs actually played the game they would realise that sacrificing heal, 2 trait lines, 2 utilities and a elite skill to maintain those boons made you a useless autoattack build which wasnt OP as the community made it out to be. Other classes can easily do the same without sacrificing so much too and it’s party wide but because of the community response the devs thought it was OP :l

It already does, that’s not an excuse.
It’s cool to be mad and stuff but think the person you are looking for would be Roy rather than Mark, since Mark is part of the support team and not balance..? :x

No, it doesn’t. Well it may, but there is no reason for it to keep track of where every one of those 25 stacks of might came from, or the multiple separate applications of anything else that stacks duration.
I’d rather they have it undertuned than overtuned for the sake of the druid feedback. If druid were to seem really good because of something like an overpowered heal as one then that’d be terrible.
oh my.. we just went from one extreme to the other and left it in ground-nerf again?
Why are we complaining? WHaO is still better than it was prior to the balance patch. So, it’s not as good as it ‘could’ have been. But copying boons based on fixed duration, with a maximum of 3 might, is still a hundred times better than not copying boons at all.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
You know, at least they didn’t start by nerfing the ranger’s skills/traits that grant boon to their pet. I was kinda expecting it since that’s what they did to the necro after they gave them dhumfire.

Why? This isn’t a good solution. I would think, as others have also expressed, the idea behind being able to copy boons off of our pets was perhaps mainly because it would give the option to stay ranged, but still be able to benefit from boons going in the melee group (with melee pets).
So no, I don’t support this idea at all.
Keep the duration, remove the 3 might cap.
The biggest issue is that they glued a mechanic that should have been baseline in the 1st place (pet having Ranger’s buffs at all times or having Fortifying Bond baseline)
while trying to make it fancy (because what could possibly go wrong with the weakest class in the game anyways). They realized it made us just as powerful as other classes (since ranger community is the most creative and skillful – playing without any mechanics beating those that are overkilled by them), resulting in a high performance spike for those skilled players while having zero effect on PvE at all (all buffs are capped anyways).
What happened then?
Warning! Our feelings without any research behind the decision are going to hammer Rangers down to their previous state. The subpar one.
“Working as intended”
You realize Mark K. is the forum communication guy and not the Ranger dev, yeah?
I thought it would be much more reasonable to remove quickness from the copy table.
Mark is a cool person. He never answer specifly, very short, is the fastest person to lock a thread, and so far we have not seen much of him on twitch.
This is by no means offence, but Mark is the last person you have to ask this.
If i have to score Mark and Gail from ‘warm’ (being 10) to extreme cool (0), then i would say this:
Mark: 2
Gaile: 10
Everyone can improve on the job, hence there’s ‘functioning hearing’ every year for working people in my country. This post is not meant to flame, personal attack or anything. But it’s a big stand out, that this person could improve in being less cold.
This post is a suggestion for how to improve (Mark surely has his good sides, like that Magic card he printed).
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

It’s not better. The boons are so short lived that they are completely useless but now that we have them anet is likely to factor the boon share into some weird calculation that looks good on paper and use it as justification as to why we can’t get some needed buff in the future. The same way our damage coefficients are low because they assume our pet, that struggles to hit a moving target, makes up for the loss. Or how they consider MDG to be GM worthy because of some magical scenario that will never happen in game.
If they completely remove the (now useless) boon share, they might decide to add something useful like WHaO now revives dead pets, or applies a boon to allies. As long as the boon share is there we won’t get anything else for the skill.
If every one is so loud from Arena Net, and they have no clue what are rangers supposed to do, why then don’t*ARENA NET DEV TEAM RESPOND TO US?* And by that i mean in general to people request, threads with more then 50.000 pages and not a single dev response, why how and when will some thing see a change, and why exactly they are going in this direction.
