Guild Wars 2

A lot of speculation has been put into the various things Rangers will or won’t get, but we just got what may well be the closest thing to confirmation of a new pet type we’re going to get. In the new trailer (Which I’ll link below) at 1:20, we get a look at a small horde of dinosaurs apparently being chased by t-rexes. If we get the scaly raptors from this video, chances are we’ll also likely be looking at the existing feathered raptors elsewhere in game.

Thoughts on them? I imagine they’ll probably be a strong DPS type of pet, like the cats are now.

Sadly it would probably just be a slightly reskinned moa.

I don’t see how that’d be the case. We do have raptors ingame already and they’re nothing at all like moas save for the fact that they have feathers.

Currently in game the raptors aside from the native aggression behave exactly like the moas in combat.

moas heal , birds give swiftness , what i’d look for is these raptors will be the offensive versions of moas.

raptors with damaging f2’s atleast i hope if we do get new pets.

Possible it really depend on which raptors and what they do as to what type of f2 could be available. There could be a shift in their basic stat more power/precision less toughness/vitality.

Re-skinned Moas or not, that’s more or less what we’ve been asking for many moons ago – just re-skin our pets for more aesthetic options.

We’ve also been asking for pet names save client side so we don’t have to do as much renaming (for those of us that switch frequently) so what the point of length of time asking?

I, personally, have always wanted to be able to tame a Griffon. Built in evade with some nice rending attacks? It could be like a bird/feline hybrid as far as combat goes.

As for the Raptors, I think they could be a good pet if done well. An offensive version of a Moa would be pretty nice.
