Does Invigorating bond even work?
lol
There is an internal cooldown of 20 seconds.
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
i used it a bit after sep 9 patch, and it worked fine then.
keep in mind
- it on a 20s cool down, so if you use it with and eagle it will work every 4th ish time (it works nicely with and owl/raven and drake hound.
- its AOE so you might not see it if you are at LB range from you melee pet.
- you must have taken some damage to get healing ie it wont work if you are just hitting on test dummy’s.
Man all these new ranger gm traits just look very meh. Yet on my other classes almost every one im like man that seems very nice. 20sec cooldown for a 1k aoe heal what a joke.
It scales with your healing power. I haven’t used it enough to remember what the heal is, but it’s definitely higher than 1k. It’s a very reasonable skill, it’s just the line isn’t used much in PvP.
in celestial gear it was about 1.8k when i last use it
Not worth 6 points.

Not many of the ranger traits really are, most are weak for their placement in the lines.
I used it for a long time in conjunction with a fern houds f2. It was pretty much a second heal skill. VERY useful when people try to burst me down after I use my heal.
Bumping this thread because I am noticing a similar issue.
I noticed that the heals from this skill just don’t appear in the combat log for some reason. In order to actually see the healing done I had to turn off every passive heal effect and avoid using my main heal entirely.
It’s pretty annoying to not be able to see how strong this heal was without going to such an extreme. In the end it was around 2K with a Cleric’s amulet and 6 in BM.
Instead of bumping this thread you might want to start another in the bug subforum if the log isn’t working that seems to be something that might go there. Then again they might just move it back here (they haven’t done that with bugs in a while, but you never now).

Compared to a medi guard’s 2k x 4 skills with a zerk amulet…
This is one of the worst traits in the game.

Yeah, guard with no points or stats to healing gets a 1960 heal from Monk’s Focus with no ICD with 5 skills that you can use to proc the heal, they have CDs of 16s, 24, 36, 48, 72s after you use the -20% trait. That is a possible 11440 heal + the litany of wrath effect. You are looking at roughly 320 health per second if used on recharge.
A ranger gets a 2186 heal with a 20s ICD with cleric amulet, hp runes and 300 healing from beastmastery, 1400+ healing power and the skill heals for only 226 more health.
with only the 300 healing power from beast mastery, the heal is 1632 health.
Full healing power IB heal is at best 110 health per second, with 300 healing power IB is 81 health per second.

But that poor defenseless Guardian is going to need that in order to mitigate our Rapid Fire damage

Sir you deserve more likes. Here is my internet point, sir.
I’d argue that we can then combine that with Signet of the Wild and Regeneration … but the Guardian matches/beats us out there too with Virtue of Resolve (without consuming a Utility) and more access to Regeneration (even from weapon skills).
When it comes to the Beastmastery Grandmasters for healing, my suggestion is:
- Taking Healing Power and going to be close to your pet most of fights? —> Invigorating Bond
- Otherwise —> Natural Healing
Special Note: Natural Healing scales off your pets’ healing power, so taking Compassion Training increases its healing.
Note: I haven’t actually run the numbers on these two. This is just my intuition from using each.
Note: Zephyr’s is still awesome … despite being so far in beastmastery now :-/
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
Q: How do rangers running moa’s compare when it comes to healing?
The big issue of course is that harmonic cry isn’t on demand. Well, unless you have them on passive and activate them when you need the healing – 3 pulses for 1340 health each = 4020 health.
Don’t know it the values are affected by the owners own healing power, they are not affected by compassion training, that’s for sure.
You can get 2×4020 health within seconds if you swap pets. Normal cd of harmonic cry is 40 seconds, with speed training that’s down to 36 seconds. Add invigorating bond for another ‘burst’ heal of 1816 health (base) when you use F2. All aoe healing.
For aoe healing support within melee range, I’d say this is pretty decent. I’m not really sure if harmonic cry triggers on low health on other characters than the pet or its master though.
