Maybe it is a good time to ask for Whirling Defense to be usable while moving. What do you guys think?

Pets have been hidden due to rising Player complaints.

Reduce duration and reduce recharge and it would be useable. Rooting yourself for 5 sec is terribad. Making you mobile isn’t the solution since doing nothing but spinning for 5 sec is just as bad.

My random remake. Do a spin, 3/4 evade, that throws out 5 axes at nearby foes range:900 that blind and cause weakness. That attack portion would be similar to guardians binding blade I guess.

I would agree with a change to axe off hand. Honestly I feel both skills are bad. #4 rarely worked for me the times I tried to use it, mostly because of terrain, if the axe has to go a bit up due to the terrain, forget it ever coming back…

5 is also really weird, it has a cool effect when you have the off hand trait, but it just doesn’t work as intended at all, I mean, if it is supposed to be an area effect that roots you, why it hits only 3 targets? Why not 5? And then, how about giving some protection or stability too? It could then turn into a bunkerish type of movement. If the purpose is the reflecting projectiles, why make it root you?

It is basically a mess skill…

Get rid of retaliation, add stability. Being able to move would also be nice.

It just needs to be able to move. I don’t even mind if you move at a reduced amount.

As it stands for a action/movement based game, the Rangers of Guild Wars 2 are shackled with numerous options better suited to an older stand and cast model.

That is mostly why I think that asking for mobility added to the skill is a good gauge for us. I doubt we will get it and if we do then warrior will probably ask for mobile Hundred Blades and continue to ask for reflection on whirling axe (now sighting Ranger and not just the thief stolen axe to justify it)

Engineer – Magnetic Shield (#4 skill on the shield, immobilize you and reflect). The immobilize on it was kinda weird so this ability can now be used while moving so it will act similar as the #5 skill.

I’d go for that but I do so much retaliation damage with whirling defense it would be a tough trade. Not only is the damage decent but using it in a zerg with signet of stone active is just comical amounts of carnage.

No need to get rid of the retaliation, the skill is weak and needs a buff.

I think add stability or let you move. Simple.

what is even worse about this ability: it does indeed count as a whirl finisher, but it only finishes once in the whole duration. So a single bolt is fired. Other whirl finishers (e.g. warrior axe) finish multiple times and thus create multiple bolt…
