Although Anet said said they would increase viability of druid/rangers in groups and raids im with you on this… we will be getting small QoL changes but nerfs all around (that they will claim it was bug fixes)
We need a longbow buff. Not DMG-wise, but it pretty much doesn’t work right now. Revs and Guardians have a shield absorbing ranged attacks while they can attack from range on their own, Eles, of course projectile destruction and reflects, necros can get rid rid of projectiles pretty easily aswell. Mesmers just evade and block everything and sit in stealth, engis block and reflect a lot aswell. Our longbow isn’t feared anymore because he’s neglected so easily. Warriors Rifle hits hard – and sigil of might MAKES it hit. We should be feared at range but we are a joke right now if it’s about this.

Good point on this. I think Rangers could use something to make longbow attacks unblockable to some extent, especially with how prevalent blocks have become in the post-HoT world.
My personal Ranger wish for balance is that there are changes that push for base-Ranger gameplay and not just druid healing or bunker gameplay. The longbow ranger is potentially such a fun and enjoyable role, but has rarely ever been strong enough to be considered competitive or at least viable. Additionally, I’d like to see this role as a bit more complex since the power longbow build was often looked down upon when it was viable due to it’s relatively low skill floor.
Maybe they can give Ranger a shout that makes all his (and pets) attacks unblockable. That would shake things up a bit. Without something like that, bows will continue to be a thing of the past.

The solution isn’t to make longbow (or any other weapon) attacks unblockable, but to heavily tone down on blocks in this game. That said, I don’t have any hopes in either direction with this company anymore.

before hot rangers were in bad place even worse then thief are right now
the vanilla pet should get amassive buff no nerfing fot the hot pet actully althou only 2of 5 from hot pet actully worth some thing right now.

This is something I will never really get.
Thieves had the best personal DPS back then. No support but their DPS was best and burst right after the mesmers. Daredevil came in, and they got nothing but damage modifiers, DPS buffs and survival buffs.
I constantly ask my friend to join us as his thief because … It literally wins games.
And well, the same goes for the ranger. Nobody is trying to sabotage the class.
This is pretty much a desperate thread making fun of ANet and their ridiculous vision of balance, constantly nerfing us – the worst designed class in the game – over and over again.
Unlike thieves we don’t have the mechanics to apply offense in practice. However, we have much better support.

pets need a damage buff, staff needs conditions added to every skill it should be similar to ranger SB except good (lol).
rangers need better ways to generate AF without staff or an increase to the percentage of damage that becomes AF so that druids aren’t locked into a single weapon(staff) or burning a heal just to generate AF.
a way to make attacks unblockable for a period of time would be nice
all utilities except survival need to be looked at, shouts have limited uses, traps need more condi stacks to keep up with things like mallyx revs, SotW and SoS are the two best signets we have, the rest just duplicate what our traits already do.
Spirits are still garbage, none of the actives are worth using at the sacrifice of losing the passive spirit buff. only 2 of the passives are even useful and sun spirit could use at least 1 more burn stack.

Actually, I think that’s more realistic (considering the comment about shouts getting love) and that would be a solid solution too. If we’re going to be stuck with the pet, we might as well get some good synergy with them.
