Ok so every time I’m fighting a ranger and we both get downed I know I am 100% going to lose. There is 0% chance of me winning unless I can rez myself from an NPC first. I have not found any counter to the ranger downed pet heal. I have pulled the pet, killed the pet, knocked back both pet and player and nothing will stop that heal (this is while downed so I can’t just stomp them). Is there anyway at all I can interrupt that heal?

Successfully killing the pet right after the skill casts will effectively stop it from taking place. It’s not gonna happen very often, but there you go.

But if the pet is already dead, it gets a full heal.

To op, the main thing I try to do is save your interrupt for about a second after the pet stops beside the ranger. Cast it so that it hits at about that time and try to dps the rest of the ranger’s heath before the heal can come into play. It’s your only real shot.

Mesmer can also beat ranger downed state if the ranger is overly aggressive and the mesmer is condi, they are a phantasm/power build, engi -can- if their RNG lines up perfectly and they can actually get their bleeds off, Guardians can if they’re in close proximity to the range when they get downed (that 3 wrecks the ranger and the pet), however ele and thief don’t have a kittening chance.

PS: I’m not saying that engi, guardian, and mesmer will beat the ranger all the time (or even have a good shot all the time) in beating the ranger downed state, just that they -can- under certain circumstances EX: If a ranger doesn’t attack vs a downed mesmer that mesmer is gonna bleed out long before the ranger is killed.
