Seriously, now we are relegated to healing in dungeons, fractals, HoT, and i am sure it will be a forced thing in WvW as well. So much for hoping my ranger might be viable in the game as something more than " Heal, Heal, Heal".

It’s a shame I guess for some, personally I avoid healers like the plague and now it’s being smashed together with my favourite archetype bowman.

Do you get a boomkin form? If so then be happy ^_^

Edit: Well, seems like a lesser Shroud form. It’s constantly degenerating, but we use our own health pool.

I find it absurd, If they wanted a trinity like that. They should go through every other class and strip them of healing means

No i just watched it on twitchcon, Druids main focus will be healing, straight from Irenio’s gob. Even worse is we will have a zero cooldown spammable heal … think Moonkin WoW.

im already disappointed, too much healing focus in a game where EVERYONE HAS HEALING

I was excited for celestialform…. but cmon… staff was plenty of healing and you focus EVEN MORE HEALING into the new form…. great…

we just got pidgeonholed into 1 great role (healing/support only)

you either take the red pill and stay with your medicore roles (condi, power, trapper, etc)…. or take the blue pill and become a healing/support god….

Well.. sorry you are disappointed.
But i am afraid GW2 is not for you if you can’t adapt to somethign else than zerker meta.
They will change a lot and even mentioned that you should dust off your tank for the future to soak up heavy hits.

There are plenty other games around that are more likely to your likings

All of whom think it is there job to tell you how you are doing your job wrong, because they are too idiotic to not stand in the red, or the fire, or to dodge, or to not grab aggro… or whatever other scenario you will be placed in as the defacto healer and the one responsible for all of there failings.

Congrats to rangers, you’ve become a needed part of WvW/PvP meta come HoT expansion. It’s like they’re bringing in holy trinity without going holy trinity all the way. I have to say druids are very interesting, and their heals, defensive support, and cc’s are amazing for group support. Guilds will no longer say no to rangers in WvW (mode I play in most).

am I the only one who’s extremely happy about this?
in my 9+years experience of raiding I’ve always played healer and LOVED it, and now that I can finally be a viable dedicated healer in my favorite MMO, I’m just very happy! I’m so glad I made my Ranger my main!

I’m glad we will finally have a dedicated healer. As much as I enjoy GW2, the trinity is something I’ve sorely missed, and is almost essential in providing meaningful group content

This is what ranger needed…. to turn into a freaking healing fairy.

It’s amazing, it puts variation in a ‘zerker’ only meta. Having played the beta i can say, healing is underrated now.

EXTREMELY disappointed..

I play ranger for a swift and offensive range class, not a petty healer..

If I want to play healer, I’d begin with Guardian.. (And Ele is not suppose to be healer in most MMO, but in GW2 it seems to be a really good one…)

Thats what im saying, they focused WAY WAY WAY TOO MUCH on healing… if it were the case of having a “no healer” spec or idealogy… then WTF IS THIS kitten.

Druid needs more dmg output/buffs and a bit less heal, else just remove healing from all other classes entirely

I played holy pally and resto druid in wow for four years sir and I loved it.

Seriously, this is what I’m afraid of. GW2 was supposed to avoid the situation where you’re stuck waiting for a healer. I liked that a lot.

Well we need healers now apparently, unavoidable damage, makes sense as to why it’s now “hard” content. You can make anything hard by adding damage no one can avoid, it’s so contrived.

Very cool…but I think rangers will get used to seeing Bronze in events, lol.

I’d rather read Forsen’s chat than the kittenfest right now in the GW2 one. People are too dumb. “omgomg brb uninstalling omgomgomg healing so op”

I’m so sad that I can’t see anything … and since we got no blog post I know nothing about druid.
But seems that Druid is totally focused to heal.

I hope that Raids are extremely dependent on heal, like A LOT, otherwise water ele, guardian AH and eng healing turret will be better options in a raid since they can heal constantly in a nice area and still have damage.

I avoid healing like the plague, can’t stand the role. I love the bowman type roll, never mind I guess.
