I want to be a ranger, not a monk…

Then just do so. No one is forcing you to play the druid. If you don’t want to be a healer, just play like you did before. Maybe there will be a future elite spec, which will fit what you want to be better. But druid is set, get over it. I would kill to get such a great elite spec for my main character.

We all know it’s important to give feedback about all them mechanics and numbers, but I also think it’s good to provide opinions about how it looks visually and how well it fits it theme. I not only want to be good when playing it, I want to feel good.

Right off the bat, I don’t like the skill icons for the staff or celestial form. Don’t really know why, but I’m not too fond of them. I think it’s because of all the orange and blue that – although they are complimentary colours – kinda clash. Not enough green

All of the VFX are amazing. The only things that could use some glitter glue is the staff auto and the healing seed. Staff auto because it looks thin and unimpressive. I want people to notice this beam and that I’m healing them with it. Can we get the yellow centre part of the stream expanded a bit? An effect that shows every tick of damage/healing on a unit? Like your standard blue light pulse coming from players you heal and… something else on enemies? Just to make it look more powerful and to improve clarity.

The healing seed looks a bit too pimply. It’s a cool effect, and the end explosion looks beautiful as well, but the actual appearance of the seed reminds me of a risen spider’s abdomen exploding.

I noticed you went with almost entirely a celestial theme as opposed to a plant control theme. I honestly would have liked a bit more of a balance between the two, or at least more green and leafy particle effects that could work with the wisp abilities/trait.

In summary:

VFX: amazing, but make staff auto a bit more visible and seed of life a bit less gross.

Theme: pretty cool, but doesn’t feel too Druidy with near entirely astral themed skills.

As someone who played Ventari Revenant last Beta weekend, I can tell you that micro managing the tablet to maximise heals in full clerics gear did hurt my dps a lot. Also, though the heals weren’t insignificant, it can’t heal through large bursts. Rev’s do have much better boon access though.

Overall, as pure healers, druids have huge burst healing potential and the way it looks, comparing it to FF XIV as I’ve seen others do, Druids are like White Mages while Rev’s/ Guards/ x will be Summoners/ back up healers.

Roy (the Rev Dev) posted that he felt Druids were burst healers and Rev’s sustain healers but I actually think Druids could do both roles. If raids truly need specialised healers, nothing I’ve seen so far can compare to the burst healing of Celestial Avatar – healing from 1hp to 15k in 12s of just 1 spamming!

Particularly if you want to go dps in pve.

LOL, and there we have the truth, some people are QQing basically because they want to DPS in PvE which Druid is not going to help, so it doesn’t fit your personal playstyle in your specific bit of the game so it is “kitten”.

Way to ignore everything I said and take stuff out of context. Nowhere did I say it was “kitten.” In fact I said I look forward to trying it out. I already explained, MULTIPLE times that the big problem arises when you don’t want to be a healer in pve. Druid is great for support, but is unusable for pve dps because of the lack of synergy. Now if the core profession was in great shape, then this wouldn’t be a problem. That’s not the case. Ranger has issues. Now the balance patch stream is coming up, maybe it will address these problems, who knows.

Let’s put this into context:

Irenio – not only have you created a desirable role in a limited amount of time, but you’ve done so while creating an awesome new mechanic, attractive gameplay, useful (and incredibly cool) pets, arguably the best new traitline of all elite specs, detracted minimal value from other professions, created new build opportunities for non-staff/non-support Druids, single handedly (aside the raid designers of course) created a medium used to bypass the zerker cancer meta, and finally and most importantly listened and recognised base Ranger concerns.

Regardless of whether a healer/support role was what you were looking for, you can’t deny the positives that have come from this. Fantastic news for Rangers and Druids alike. We are the most deserving profession of a change like this. Huge pat on the back to this guy.

I have to disagree, sorry, particularly with the bolded listened and recognised. I don’t see anything of the ranger requests made overthe last 3 years. I see nothing of exchanging the pet when the environment doesn’t suit pet mechancs. Worse than that tho, if the HoT environment is as Irenio describes, with dodges needed but not being enough, healing and positioning being needed then Pets are in an even worse position in HoT than ever before since they can do none of these things. Nothing has been done to address the fundamental flaws of the pet in tactical, active defence based combat.

What the players have been requesting is more team utility, this is true. But we’ve also been requesting that something change in our et mechanics so that they’re not always dead in advanced play and that they don’t trip mechanics which make encounters harder. Nobody has ever asked to have Death Shroud crudely duct-taped on top of our already full F bar, while our pets get AoE to death faster than ever before because we have no reasonable tactical control over them

Irenio has dropped the ball again. Dropped the ball just as he did by inflicting Most Dangerous Game, the failed version of the useless old necro trait Siphoned Power on rangers. As he did with the total hobbling of spirits. Just like he did with the total ruination of Engineer gadgets and turrets and the awful, awful Gadgeteer trait or the woefully pointless Medical Dispersion Field.

I’m not saying that Druid is bad, just that it’s a poor job of what it could have been.

It doesn’t help that aesthetically it’s about as far away from druids as you can conceivably get or that the plant skills we were promised are basically two slots and a couple of traits.

I can’t help but think that Celestial is what Elementalists were supposed to have gotten and some how it got into some horrific accident and ended up spliced hideously onto druid’s backside.

Irenio specifically mentioned at the end of the Druid stream that he’s been lurking the Ranger forums in his own time reading and making notes about all our problems, and will be addressing these in the balance review. He probably hadn’t done this before decimating some of the current Ranger traits as you mention.

I concede that nothing is confirmed till it’s confirmed, but it seems to me like it’s spelling good news, particularly after what we’ve seen him do with the Druid.

Revenant can heavily bring in the trinity as well.
Herald can be built to be quite the tank, and centaur turns you into quite the healer.

not to mention revenants get a taunt and can trait into increasing the duration of the taunt on NPCs. making them a pretty effective aggro management/tank

You cannot make healers desirable without being obligatory.

Of course you can.

Example:

With Healers:

- Most players on the party can spec for pure damage, because the party has a Healer to keep them alive.

Without Healers:

- Players need to slightly hybridize their selection of skills and/or gear so they survive the damage, reducing overall DPS output.

Ideally, the total DPS output of both examples could even be identical.

The problem is that currently it IS the second option. The thing is you can get enough healing/support out of your 95% DPS builds to do all the content. Guardians bring a ton of Block, Ele’s do quite a bit of healing by just popping into water shortly, and many classes bring enough blind for everyone.

In order to make it so people actually desire healers they need to be required in some way. Without them being required you’ll have a slight variation on what is currently happening, people will tweak their spec to be 90% DPS and 10% support or whatever ratio suits the content. It’ll still be seen as a ‘Zerker meta’.

I just finished watching the reveal, and wanted to point out that Druid is also going to have some extremely high damage options with the new utilities. The added daze and stun abilities will proc Moment of Clarity for us.

In addition, the new pets come with a very high base condition damage, opening the door for us to double up on condition damage, or focus on power and let pet deal conditions. This is new.

Settler’s rune will be great for a condition Druid. I am betting Valkyrie will work with GS and other melee amalgamations along with Moment of Clarity and Remorseless. The new elite skill will put Xinrae’s Weapon to shame. We will be able to set up some amazing traps for unaware noobs and pros alike.

Don’t think we will be pigeon holed into running a toothless healer. The base damage and malaise on some of the PBAoE utilities and skills we bring will be perfect.

We needed utility. We got it. We needed a place to fit in. We got it. I am extremely pleased. Did you see the PBAoE utilities we have? Wow!

  • Love the throw back skill and trait names!
  • The new pets look just amazing.
  • Does not seem to be a lot of synergy with the other Ranger trait lines, there is some there when you look for it, but not many stand outs.
  • No aspect has any synergy whatsoever with pets. This very much needs to be addressed.

Solar Beam

  • Great that it is not a projectile. Could have a short cripple on it.

Astral Wisp

  • This could really benefit with something that interacts with the pet, “Pet attacks against this foe deal 10% more damage”. Or _"Pet attacks against this foe apply Poison for 2s".

Ancestral Grace

  • Would be better as a straight up teleport or if invulnerable during the travel time.

Vine Surge

  • May be quite difficult to actually use tactically.

Sublime Conversion

  • Looks excellent. Could this possibly be a Light field so that the projectiles actually combo and give regeneration?

General

  • Glyphs could really do with more utility such as boons, stun breaks or blast finishers.
  • Range possibly a bit small.

Glyph of Rejuvenation

  • Could do with a boon
  • Could do with more healing, its quite low when compared to Ranger’s other heals. Although with all the other healing, some other utility could be better, like Resistance or Breaking Stun and removing conditions.

Glyph of Alignment

  • Cripple duration too short

Glyph of Equality

  • Possibly shave a few seconds off the CD? See Mantra of Distraction/Power lock

Glyph of Tides

  • Looks solid, but has potential to be a troll. Possibly change the Knockback to a launch for Ancient Seed synergy. Good CD and damage.

Glyph of Empowerment

  • Perhaps a bit too short a duration for the CD. Without the trait it is only 2.5% party damage increase. Perhaps party-wide Quickness would be good on this, or increase the damage.

Glyph of Unity

General

  • The skills look nice, but there are no boons whatsoever and very little damage, I’d suggest adding at least some minor AoE damage so people can get credit for tagging in PvE. Probably the most important change that could happen is to add damage to the CAF skills, purely for PvE and for triggering sigils and on-hit effects.

Cosmic Ray

  • Difficult to use a ground targeted skill as an AA and remain mobile. Ask engineers about Grenade kit carpal tunnel.

Seed of Life

Lunar Impact

Tidal Surge

Natural Convergence

  • IF this skill is a root channel, does it have to be?

Celestial Being

  • Astral Force on damage perhaps too low, can’t be sure as yet. Perfect place to add pet synergy, make pet damage also add to the Astral Force.

Live Vicariously

  • Possibly apply this heal to the pet as well, help solve some of its survivability issues.

Natural Mender

  • Possibly too difficult to maintain the buff while not in a large group. Could also benefit to swap this trait with Natural Stride so that healing Druid is not the only effective way to play it, if you are not rolling with a group or doing lots of healing it is a wasted trait, whereas Natural Stride in its place would be of massive benefit. See Time Marches On from Mesmer.

Druidic Clarity

  • looks very solid

Cultivated Synergy

  • Possibly add a boon to this trait as Druid has none, short Resistance maybe? Even a Random boon for 10s would be amazing.

Primal Echoes

Celestial Shadow
Provide the buff to the Druid on entering CAF and on both Druid and allies on exit. Or split it to Stealth on entry and Super speed on exit for both druid and allies. Or perhaps just increase the duration.

Verdant Etching

Natural Stride

Grace of the Land

Lingering Light

Ancient Seeds

  • Could be made to work with Knocked back foes for synergy with PBS/Counterattack, although glyph of the tides may be OP then?

  • Will CAF skills work with Quick Draw?
  • Can Druid generate Astral Force while in CAF like you can generate life force in DS?
  • How long does CAF last for and under what conditions does it drop?

Me personally, happy with it, some of the things Druid brings to the table had me laughing out loud and generally being quite amazed when I saw them, happy days! This said, I can still see a few areas where some more synergy could be shoe-horned in and make it truly great and viable for all game modes and areas.

Celestial Being – Perhaps the Astral force per damage is too low for solo play, it would take a lot of damage to build it just by damage and lots of the time in PvE, you won’t need much healing. Need to see it in action better though.

Natural Mender - Seems like the buff is too short and too small to be able to really maintain it with it being 10 stacks. If it were me, I would adjust it to be 4% and 5 stacks. I’d have to know the exact mechanics though, it may stack up each time an ally is healed by Regeneration, in which case, it is totally fine as is. But if Regeneration ticks are not counted, then it could be quite difficult to get full benefit when not in a full group. I realise it is 5% better than Aquatic Benevolence on Ele, but Ele does not have to maintain anything for that 15%, this would need to heal 7 times every 6s to get almost the same buff.

Cultivated Synergy - I think this is a little un-inspired and pretty weak. Since there are no traits that deal with boons or apply boons, this could be a way to do that, perhaps granting 2s Resistance to allies as well.

Celestial Shadow - Could also grant the same effects to you on entering Celestial Avatar, making you much slipperier in PvP for support.

Celestial skills
Needs a damage component on all of its skills for PvE. Good opportunity to add some boon support to the Druid as well.

What are other people’s opinions?

I’ll admit, I’m worried a bit. Not by the change to where the berzerker meta isn’t as sustainable, but by the raids.

In CoH, you could build a trinity style team, or you could avoid it. In fact, making highly unbalanced teams for things became something of a thing, running a task force with all tanks, buffers, or DPS to see how it would go. And it worked, sometimes not as well as the balanced team, but sometimes even better.

The problem is, it was “easy” content by hardcore judgement. And the harder they try to make raids, the less wriggle room we’ll have on builds and team composition. If they make it too “tight”, then we’ll see people refusing to run without healers. Even if they’re not really needed, people will insist they are. And they’ll be somewhat right, because the team won’t want to fail where they could have succeeded if they’d had a healer with them.

Awaiting balance patch notes and more info on the raids for now, but I have no problem with Druids as healers by itself. It’s the other stuff that worries me.

I kinda agree with all of you guys but I think there are a few very good pros and a few very bad cons about druid.

First of all the Druid specialization introdce something unique not only for the ranger but for Gw2 as a game, which is fantastic. The healing aspect is very interesting and seems veeeeery strong. The only thing I see as a weak spot is the lack of versatility, I mean the only thing staff and glyphs do is healing, it lacks everything else: there are no boons, a little bit of CC, no stability, only one reflection (if I stand correct), only 1 break stun and very little damage.

Anyway we should consider every aspect of the game as a separate matter in my opinion:

1- it is very likely that druids will be almost necessary for the new Raids content, that’s almost certain.
2- Pve events or “farming” will have no use for healers (maybe druids will be useful in the new jungle zones? I doubt it anyway); simply because 0 dps = 0 reward and the whole concept of events and farming is loot.
3- Dungeons: what good can come from a dedicated healer in Gw2 if dungeons stay the same as right now? I think none.
4- Wvw: in a roaming situation I can see a hybrid druid build put to good use, considering that the numbers on the heals are great as they are even with low healing power. In a Zerg situation I can see a full healing power druid being played, especially in organized groups or guilds
5- Finally, as for PvP (that’s what I’m most interested in): there is a lot of potential here but not as you guys may think; I really don’t think full healers druid will ever be a thing simply because the druid as it has been presented to us would be a too easy target. As it is right now Druid has amazing heals but nothing else, that means absolutely no stability, no blocks, no invulns, 1 break stun on a 40 sec Cd only in avatar form and super low damage: this means that a coordinated group (2 people would be enough) could simply stunlock a druid to death even before he has the chance to start healing which is very bad; just imagine a cleric guardian, triple the healing output he has and take from him all the stability, invulns, blocks and stun brakers he has…he would die in about 3 seconds every team fight.
Hybrids builds on the other hand (something like settler or crusader or even celestial with both survivals and glyphs) would be very strong in my opinion, providing not only great team support via healing but also good sustain and amazing 1v1/2v2 potential.

As for WoodenPotatos thought about healing power…. He basically only plays PvE and yes, healing power is useless in PvE. As for PvP and WvW it is clear that he has no clue what he’s talking about, healing power is underrated but far from useless.

The cycles of the moon and stars is a common theme in druidic or other natural systems of magic. Lunar/celestial effects show up all the time. C’mon, man. Chillax. Could be worse – they could’ve been shapeshifters. That would’ve been a real disaster.

What I will type bellow has nothing to do with the gw lore or anything, but what driidis is ( that druid comes from).

1) has nothing to do with the moon
2) its celestial yes from the stars
3) does not use magic at all. Its all about celestial/soul/spirit energy.

do not confuse or merge witches/wizzards/moons and dragons…with driidis. (druids). Magick drains power from something else, by doing sacrifices, offerings, invoke the power of something else… Druids, the power flows from within them. Its not magick. Take for example elementalists, they do magick… “i call the power of ocean, balthazar, etc” It keeps that tradition.

As for the healing thing… ok I may not having a problem, but what about picking up 2 paths, 1 dps spec and 1 healing spec. Rangers was kicked out by most of the groups, now rangers will be most wanted, but also will get a heavy burden… is it fair? Maybe the heaviest of all, because many can tank and dps… but only 1 can heal.

I wasn’t interested in Druid before I knew anything about it other than its name. After seeing it in action and learning what all it can do, I’m absolutely not interested.

The thing I like least about the Druid is that its special ability is pretty much contingent on running with a staff or glyphs. I’m going to make a Daredevil. The only thing about Daredevil that I’m taking and even interested in at all is the trait line. With the trait line I get a third dodge and a grand master that augments my dodge making it even cooler. But everything else about how I play my thief will be unchanged and it will work.

The Druid special mechanic is contingent on growing healing. Without producing a lot of healing you can’t make an serious use of it. Granted it’s also fairly useless if you’re not operating under the expectation of doing a lot healing, so there’s that.

I’m going to make a Scrapper, and I’m going to use the hammer, but I’m actually going to run flamethrower because that’s the engineer I play. Scrapper will do a lot of fun things to that gameplay without forcing me to take drones or actually make use of the hammer’s abilities.

I want my elite specials to augment my play, and to potentially alter how I play in big ways. But I don’t want my elite specials to force me to play how the elite special plays, period.

I personally think that the Druid that was revealed today was very exciting.
here are the things I enjoyed

: The celestial/space theme
isn’t this just an extreme for nature magic? It awesome.
: Versatility of the glyphs
Ranger lacked synergy and versatility with exception of traits involving the pet.
The Druid traits provide new options the ranger never had. It is really the first new niche that ranger has access too, we all know that the spirits didn’t quite work out.

I understand that some people don’t like the druid. But their discussion is rarely constructive.

Any feedback?! what do you like and what do you have concern about?

p.s. I don’t honestly believe that the druid will become the new monk… honestly, it looked like you’d have to exhaust all your energy and skills to get an ally to full health…. that’s quite the sacrifice.

Wait, hold on there.

What do you mean by “Versatility of the glyphs with synergies”, when all of them are PBAOE short range, while all staff skills are 1200 range?

Where’s the synergy?

Plus that 10% damage bonus Glyph is even worse than Frost Spirit.. (only 1/4 up-time, netting a 2.5% damage increase over 20 secs)

wow! no one has ever replied to my topic before, this is great. Perhaps we have clashing opinions? but thats okay.

I am not the best at expression, but my meaning behind the synergy was that the glyphs seemed to work well with one another.
- Stun foes or knock back foes, giving you the ability to provide some healing to allies in the fight. It felt like the specialization was complete, or it came with everything you needed without using existing specializations of the ranger. ( of course there are probably some cool builds once you incorporate the other trait lines)

about the staff, I do like that it is 1200 range… it fits the ranger very well. I guess the one skill that moves you straight forward can be an entrance into using the glyphs?

your thoughts?

I like the skill and functionality design of Druid. I am desperately looking forward to see how well can a pure support role function in HoT Raids.

One aspect of Druid that IMHO still has the possibility to improve is the theme design: The Glyph skills include too many different elements (tides, vines, stars) and “plant element” is just not enough. My suggestion is, leave all the “astral” stuff to Celestial Form (including Glyph in Celestial Form) and make skills in humanoid form more “plant related” (at least by appearance), especially the Glyph skills. Overall the “celestial theme” is not a problem to me; nor have I seen any complaints on WOW Druid’s Moonkin Form (and Glyph of Stars).

By the way, I will not blame the designers for borrowing concepts from other games (Engineer from Team Fort and Torch Light 2, Druid from another Druid); as long as they fit the story background and skills well, they are great design.

maybe you are right about keeping the astro/space theme with the celestial form. However, I must admit that i really do love that thematic aspect to the druid… its like the ultimate form of nature magic. Its awesome.

I respectfully disagree that the astro theme doesn’t fit with the druid. I really think it does. Not only is it unique, I feel as if it is intended to siphon into the ultimate form of nature magic. perhaphs anet is trying to tie that to celestial bodies and the “universe”

I know people have been saying that the blue color isnt fit for ranger… however the shade of blue they use is very unique. I think they are trying to paint a different picture of the druid. I personally LOVE it

just my opinion though.

your thoughts?

I really love the Celestial form… I even like the color scheme.. its a little different for the ranger.. but there is nothing else like it in the game… and I think it wouldn’t be the same if another profession got this mechanic..

to Irenio and everyone else to designed this, I really like it.

p.s. closer to the stars is my ll time favorite title

I’m glad that Irenio is in charge of the ranger now. that’s the good news. the bad news is he has a lot of work to do, and the druid was just a start.

also, glad to have my Moonkin back. know what I’m sayin?

The first point made by Hooglese.4860 is a big point to consider. I would hate to end up in a position where if you show up as a ranger, the other players expect you to be a druid. That was a major problem in GW1 with the monk. And while it is true that the glyphs do not offer much in protection, stability, stunbreak, and so forth it is also true that the ranger has access to utility skills and traits elsewhere to make such considerations irrelevant.

The bigger issue I see is the druid being useless in most areas of game play with only a couple of notable exceptions. I would like to see some of the healing skills in the ranger form (non-celestial form) actually be damaging. Instead of a “selfish” druid, let it be an “angry” druid. Plant based attacks or ground based damage. “One bone broken for every twig snapped underfoot.”

As you mentioned, its much too soon to be asking for a buff to this without seeing how it actually plays out.

Cultivated Synergy - I think this is a little un-inspired and pretty weak. Since there are no traits that deal with boons or apply boons, change this to something to do with Regeneration, since we already have miles of it, it would be a good synergy. “Whenever you apply Regeneration, nearby allies gain 2s of Resistance. Regeneration heals for 25% more.” Or something that works in with what Ranger already has.

I disagree with your Regeneration suggestion and the idea that it is free for us. You have to either spec for it, use a valuable utility slot, use warhorn, or some combination of all three. There are no ways to get Regeneration just from speccing Druid/Glyphs so adding a Regen trait makes no sense.

Celestial Shadow - Could also grant the same effects on entering Celestial Avatar, making you much slipperier in PvP for support.

Assuming Celestial Avatar is on a 10 second cooldown, having party wide stealth/resistance upon both entry and exit of the elite form screams OP to me. It might better to change the trait so that stealth/resistance is given upon entering Celestial Avatar instead of upon exiting it but we won’t know without actually playing with the trait.

Celestial skills
Needs a damage component on all of its skills for PvE. Good opportunity to add some boons to the Druid, such as Resistance and Regeneration for the modified Cultivated Synergy.

Druid seems to be shaping up as THE healer for HoT (with plenty of sustain and burst healing) and you want to give it more healing in the form of Regen? The focus of Druid is raw healing and I’d prefer to leave boons to the other classes or else we will be stepping on too many toes.

Sorry if I’m coming off a bit harsh but Druid is arguably the strongest elite spec to come out for HoT and I can’t believe we are already discussing ways to make it even stronger without sacrificing somewhere else.

I’m not too worried, I believe this will allow more builds to be useful since pure zerker won’t be what people will desire. It will give players who like to use knights armor and such the chance to get groups more than some random pug group who isn’t running zerker. How often do you see normal groups seeking just regular players that isn’t a LFzerkersx? Usually when I’m bored and want to do a dungeon all I see is, players looking for just zerker players. Yeah, the meta will change but it’ll allow more builds like we were able to see in GW1 for group content. I hope that Anet goes back to more of how GW1 was with group builds, allowing more diversity but this time every player can be able to keep someone alive rather than just purely DPSing the daylights out of everything as fast as they can. This will allow more tactical thinking which would be a good thing. We should all stop worrying til the expac drops and we see for ourselves what it’s actually going to be like. Nothing gets done by worrying about stuff. Just go prepare different sets and play with different builds while we wait for the new content and experiment with it!

I’m kind of concerned about if all that healing will be at all useful outside of raids, for PvE anyway. I’d hate to see one of the main focuses of our elite spec be of such limited use.

I don’t like where this is going. Required healers means that forming groups will be harder, and more people will be excluded. Several classes have no viable group healing options, and this brings me back to the days when I played WoW, when pure DPS classes were stuck in one overpopulated niche no one wanted when forming groups.

Not to mention if you are a ranger people will cry and moan that your not a healer. I don’t understand why a ranger becomes a healer anyways. I mean seriously, did you roll a ranger to dps or heal?

I didn’t say I didn’t like the astral theme. Most MMOs with Druids give them astral magic. I said I wished that there was more of a balance between the two. Looking at these abilities I feel like more of a space mage (astrologian anyone?) than a Druid. Particle effect adjustments would be a good way to add some down to earth nature themes to the Druid.

I’m actually very surprised druid didn’t get access to Resistance boon.

I’m concerned about lack of stability as well. SoW is such a bad utility, and going for SotP will prevent us from using glyph of unity =(

This is more meant to be a place to collate that feedback into something constructive, though.

Thanks for not being a clown and just immediately posting when I had the title “Please don’t post here yet” Luckily I got the reserved posts in a few seconds before you did.

The other thread has 500+ posts. Why do you think you’re the special snowflake that doesn’t get merged into it? You’re welcome.

note: “I don’t like that thread” is not a valid reason to make a dupe. They merge everything into superthreads for a reason.

Anet does it yet again, releases yet another pile of garbage specialization that can only be described as stupidly random. Honestly, whoever is designing all these needs to be fired.
How on earth does anything this specialization can do connect to our current ranger? It does ABSOLUTELY nothing for our pet…OUR MAIN PROFESSION MECHANIC, we turn into some freaking stupid shadow transformation, we’re given a bunch of utility skills that pretty much do nothing but turn us into some terribad elementalist, we’re given staff a weapon that does nothing but heal which has always been absolutely worthless in the game and nothing is going to change that. And on top of it, what the hell are with these HORRIBLE animations….uhg honestly, could you made a more horrible specilization? Guess we’ll see in the next expansion…

I was disappointed with pretty much every specialization you’ve release, yet I only really play ranger, and after today…yet another disappointment.
Been a major fan since Guild Wars 1, but ever since these expansion reveals, you’ve done nothing but disappoint.

I’ve completely lost faith in you guy.

celestial form is beautiful. thank you for giving me my Moonkin back.

staff animations are very lackluster. I don’t like the wisp, and the AA beam is so tiny.

I welcome some form of mobility and condition removal, but I don’t want “this much” healing focus…

If I want support, I rather it be more offensive and defensive supports rather than just focus solely on healing and nothing else. I understand there’re some skills like projectile absorb and damage retaliation, but I hope it’s way more than those.

I also expect some form of damage improvement through the offensive support, but it seems to be none existent for Druid.

I think the celestial theme (i.e. defined as being to do with planetary bodies – the ‘macro natural world’ if you will) is a nice, unique flavour for the Druid.

Spirits, heavens, nature, astral bodies – they’re all linked. It’s just that the average Joe Bloggs thinks of nature as “plants and sheit”. Irenio has taken it one step beyond – more majestic than the [literally] down-to-earth stereotypical nature/plants association.

I agree that there could perhaps have been more balance between the down-to-earth (i.e. plants and sheit) style and the astral nature style – but I’m not complaining. To me personally I’m not going to get picky on that level and it looks fantastic as it is.

The real problem is most people have no clue what an actual druid is, you’ve all been brainwashed by WoW and D&D’s kittenized versions. This is actually very much in line with what a Druid is/was. So your complaints are unfounded, do research, familiarize yourself with a real druid and then come back and delete your original post.
