Hey guys,
Are there any video guides for basic/advanced healing in raids as Druid? Or is anyone here considering creating one?
I’m asking because one of my guildies who wants to try it doesn’t really know where to start and myself, while I feel confident as Druid/Ranger in PvP, haven’t experienced raiding with healing on Druid specifically yet, so not sure if I’d give right advices.
I know there are POV videos, but they explain or teach little in general about build performance.
Cheers,
Rym
I might make one later but no promises. But your “rotation” consists of applying as much Grace of the Land stacks as possible and using Glyph of Empowerment on cd. This is a usually a bigger contribution to raid DPS than actually doing damage yourself with a hybrid gear set like Zealots. The quickest way to stack this is with Rejuvenating Tides, the 4 skill in Celestial form. Other than that, for actual healing there are reactionary and predictive components of it that a guide can’t really teach you, and you just need to be familiar with the actual encounter and your own raid composition. Like, if I think people won’t take damage within the next 10s, I’ll end CAF early after my 2nd Rejuvenating tides and go back to staff to recharge it ASAP. If you are caught out of CAF and need to apply healing, you will need to rotate your CDs between staff 3, glyph heal and Fern Hound Heal or whatever other thing you bring for healing until you charge up your astral force.
But yeah, you basically need to understand that your main role is to heal and buff your allies damage. Builds that try to be a DPS ranger that off heal and rarely use staff are not utilizing the druid properly IMO. I pretty much think the ideal druid healer gameplay involves a lot of staff camping and CAF buffing. But yeah, this is just how me and my guild in particular view druids. Other playstyles/builds are viable and you may or may not have more success with them

If you have others dedicated to the healing role, I see no issues with a dps ranger that also brings support through grace of the land and support healing. You pop into CA, use mainly #4 (and possibly #3 and #5), leave and continue to dps.

Well I meant that if you were the dedicated healer.
I have a ranger which I level as a druid currently and I would like to know what equipment I should give her for raids.
Which weapon sets are best for healer druid in raids?

I feel the same… in beginning i was playing much more offensive and not camping staff, planning on a zealot armor. But after raiding experience, and recent nerfs to astral energy i feel that camping staff and grace of the land are the key points to focus on.
I equipped cleric in the end and find myself stay in staff most of the fight. Generally when u learn the fight u want Celestial Form ready when damage spikes up, trying to anticipate it with glyph of empowerment already used (if u didnt use it to boost dmg)
There are several combos u can use to refull HP like:
Glyph of Empowerment (CaF) + Glyph of Rejuvenation or/and Glyph of Alignment or/and Rejuvenating Tides
consider Glyph of Empowerment bonus to heal has a 6 secs duration so u can use more healing, u can even choose to exit celestial form and Ancestral Grace where u need to heal.

Cleric is a solid choice atm.
monk runes (ascalonian catacombs tokens) or druid runes (if u going for a glyph build +500 Healing power always up when u need the burst)
Staff + sword/warhorn is what i used till now. U can choose different secondary, just keep staff
best sigil is trasference + water on staff (the first one very expensive)

Can you give me a complete build?
I could try out and tweak it perhaps a little (everyone plays different).
full glyph (u can use druid runes too)
spirit support (bugged atm unfortunately)
key features of both is quick draw, grandmaster talent. choose wisely the skill to reduce cooldown, usually call of the wild and ancestral grace or ancestral wisp.
cat pet for might buff, spider to immobilize gorseval spirits, fern hound for more healing and so on
@Nephar
Thank you very much.
I see that both builds have very high armour, don’t you have aggro problems?
u just need a higher toughness tank on first boss, the others 2 isnt a problem who hold aggro

Most people are using Magi gear and weapons and, if you can get them, magi accessories to reduce toughness as much as possible. the lowest toughness tank is the mesmer tank and he’s at around 1400 toughness, try to stay below that. If the tank goes down and you have the second highest toughness realize that you can still get aggro.
There is a guide on the front page of reddit by the SC druid. I didn’t really look at it because I despise reddit, but I believe he had videos as well.
