FIX THE DRUID STAFF SOUND! The incessant “ping” sound is maddening. Whoever picked the sound of a submarine’s sonar should be demoted. https://www.freesound.org/people/digit-al/sounds/90340/

I could not agree more, seriously! Please fix this, it’s annoying to the point that I will not play on my druid.

The Octovine in AB uses the same sound… Maybe it’s way of hinting that we are getting plant pets?

I would be happy if it used Mesmers Great Sword 1 sound. Both weapons are classified as beams.

I like the current sound cause it’s soft yet I can still hear it. I do NOT want some obnoxious “sci-fi lasers are cool!” sound spamming 3 times a second forever while in staff.

Eh not a fan of copying the Mesmer GS sound. It’s important to have distinct audio differences. We should have options, though. Maybe like a searing beam sound, not laser.

I know it’s a laser sound, but I’m having a difficult time trying to find any other decent ones. Welding sounds are kinda idk…

On relistening to it, I think there are two parts, the casting sound (“sonar”) and the skill actually making contact and channeling.

They could remove the casting sound (and the character grunting all the time…) and just leave the channeling attack sound.

I don’t mind the druid staff, it’s fairly quiet. I can’t really hear it/notice it unless I think about it.

If it wernt for the spamming coupled with the “noob loot stick” stigma I wouldn’t mind guardian wave of wrath sound. I’m more embarrassed by its sound than annoyed.

To be fair I have a subwoofer hooked to my PC, so guard staff sounds like I’m suddenly in the middle of a nightclub in Soho. Great if you’re on ecstasy, not much fun when playing GW2.

Add necromancer sounds to that list for me. Those 3 sound effects drive me up the wall.

Pretty funny. Was playing with my wife last night first time with staff for testing it out and she mumbled after an hour or so that it sounded just like a submarine… Gave me a good laugh as it was so true.

While I’m no fan of the druid staff #1 sound, I do know that no matter what they could change it to someone else would hate it.
