Guild Wars 2

Just something I’ve been wondering about, and I’m not sure if this has been answered before. Why don’t Rangers have sword off-hand capability? They seem more the agile class that would use something like that over the Warrior and Mesmer.

Thoughts?

This OMFG this, man I would die if my ranger could dual wield some sexy kitten swords.

I’d like this, Never got why we couldn’t DW Swords, we’re more agile with swords than really any other class including Thieves.

DW Swords would have made too much kitten sense. Thus, it was omitted from the Ranger.

I suppose this should have gone in the suggestion section.

I dunno, just figured I’d ask around in the Ranger section, see if I’m the only one who thought it would have made more sense for us to have them. Maybe ANet will decide to give us some smexy dual-wielding swords? One can only hope.

Rangers in most lore(in mmos) can use dual swords. BUT NOT GUILDWARS.

I think it’s too late for them to make this change but meh, we can hope…

Only Drizzt is allowed to dual wield scimitars, sorry guys.

On the one hand we don’t need every ranger being drizzt, drizt, drizzit, drzt, drizzzzt, etc. (you see my point) but then again in my off hand i could be wielding a second sword!!! (see what i did there?)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this be the first target for an expansion weapon for the Ranger. Dual-wield sword rangers have been around 4ever, and sword/dagger doesn’t quite get there.

Not being able to dual-wield swords almost put me of being a Ranger.

I dream about DW swords for Ranger…. :p

Who is Drizzt? Everyone’s referring to him and I don’t even understand the reference(or joke) that’s being referenced.

Dual wielding swords has long been the iconic ranger thing in D&D, it would make total sense in this game as well, since the ranger archetype is very similar. It’ll probably happen at some point. I see a lot more people requesting it on the thief forums, though (I suppose because they’re used to WoW), when it really doesn’t make as much sense for thieves (although they need more weapon options in general)

A simple Google search should inform you, Informer

Off-hand sword ability 4-Jaguar pounce: teleport to enemy rear and cripple. Ability 5- Wings of freedom: blind enemy and jump back, breaks immobilize/stun.

One can only dream….
