Is it just me, or are they the exact same thing? I’ve double checked the stats and skills and they are identicle. The skins also seem to be the same, unless there is some risiculously small detail. I remember in the beta that the eagle was more of a bald eagle, with a white head and brown body, it was much cooler. Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

They -used- to be different back in beta, but now they’re the same other than appearance.

NOTE: Back in beta one of them applies 1 stack of bleeding for some ridiculously large amount of time (like 2 minutes or something stupid long like that) the other one did what it does now.

The skin seems exactly the same to me. Stats are definitely identical, at least on the tooltips. I’m not complaining though, I run with both most of the time for the great spike with low cooldown.

They do look different, but not by a lot.

It’s fairly slight, when you look at them while they’re sitting (or flying) you can notice it, but if you’re just watching it maul something it’s hard to notice since they’re both a brown bird.

+1 To Anet for giving us a bald eagle for a pet. -50 for them making it a “juvenile eagle” so all we get is a bland brown bird that is indistinguishable from the hawk at a distance.

Yes, please distinguish the hawk and eagle a bit more. One of their F2 abilities could perhaps cause weakness or vulnerability. It could be called shred/shred armor perhaps.

Honestly not sure I’d want their attacks doing anything else, I use them BECAUSE they are high raw damage and most importantly on very very low cool downs. When traited right in BM I don’t think I’ve ever pressed F2 needing the burst and not had it available.

If you add on a effect it would needed a higher cooldown and their are other birds for that. Plus, I think they cause a small vulnerability with their normal attacks already.

I also use Hawk/Eagle because of their low cooldown F2, I’d just really like to see an EAGLE instead of a Hawk clone in game, and a HAWK head for a pet icon instead of an Eagle head. This must be a bug, the two icons are 100% identical.
